Recently the Broadlands HOA was named as a defendant in a lawsuit filed by the Southern Walk HOA. This suit concerns easements granted to Openband. There have been questions as to why the SWHOA's access to the Nature Center has been denied.

To ensure the security of the Broadlands HOA records – and residents’ information - the Broadlands HOA has curtailed the use of the Nature Center for meetings. When the initial determination to limit meetings was made, SWHOA and the Girl Scouts had a night that conflicted at the Community Center and the BHOA chose to defer moving the SWHOA from the Nature Center at that time. After this decision, SWHOA indicated that due to a change in management agent, they needed to move their meeting to another night. This move created yet another conflict at the Community Center. While the BHOA accommodated SWHOA by allowing them to use the Nature Center, the filing of a lawsuit against the BHOA necessitates restricting access to the BHOA Offices building. The BHOA is happy to accommodate the SWHOA on another night at the Community Center that doesn't conflict with another event.
