I think we may be able to find someone matching that description.

    Please define "Careless and Neglect".

Do you watch your children 24x7, every hour, every minute, every second? Do you ever avert your eyes for even a brief moment?

The posted speed limit is irrelevant on Ashburn Village Blvd. I think people just go as fast as they feel like it. I typically drive 35-40 there and people are passing me all the time. What's even more frustrating is when you're the passenger in the speeding car but your spouse/friend/driver ignores the speed limit and gets annoyed when you tell them to slow down. No offense to said spouse/friend/driver, but pay attention to how fast you're driving.

I always keep in below 40 on Ashburn Village. I've seen too many people pulled over and too many speed traps to test fate.

Ashburn Village is a good example of people actually paying attention to the posted speed limit. ( at least the local folks ) Since they are aware of many speed traps and if I'm not mistaken ( added fine << there is a posted sign I believe )

I wonder if that is what is need in Broadlands too .. additional fine for speeding ..along with extra presence from the Loudoun's finest ...

    :D

The sigh says "$200 additional fine for speeding".

i'm really more concerned about- in THIS thread- the speeding within our smaller, 25 mile/hour community roads- with front yards on either side of them. yes speeding is a problem on claiborne, waxpool, broadlands blvd, etc., but my focus here is more about vestals gap, chickacoan- these are the two roads i notice based on where i live, but i'm sure there are other straightaways within the 'hood that speeders create dangerous situations on.

we KNOW kids will make bad decisions by crossing the street without looking both ways, running into the road after a ball, riding a skateboard or bike with an ipod on and weaving into the road without a care- that's why WE have to make a SMART decision to slow down so we can decrease the number of inevitable accidents, and make them into injuries instead of fatalities.

    soap box away... :)

Village Dr. is also a bad for speeding. It is significantly wider (or "normal" since the other roads are very narrow) than all the other streets in SW-Courtyard and cars fly up and down, right next to the largest of the community pools!

When we go for walks I typically yell at 3-4 cars to slow down (yep, that's me folks if you read this).

Funny you mention Village, people do speed crazy on it...but LoCo's finest are cutting down on it.

I walked out of the house one day to see one of LoCo's finest's cruiser's nose pointing straight at my front door. Feeling a little weirded out that a cop car was pointing right at my front door I went and spoke to the policeman. Turns out he was just setting up a speed trap to catch people on Village and because of the way the fire zones are on my street he couldnt park in a way that would allow him to see village and not look at my front door. I told him that he could park in my driveway anytime and set up a speed trap. He informed me that it would be illegal for him to do that on private property, but he did think that my suggestion was ok that he park in front of the driveways of two of the houses to my right that are for sale/rent. About the time I got back to my front door he was pulling away with sirens a blazing. Target....BMW SUV/Minivan looking thing.

And T8 next time we have a beer remind me to tell you the story of the speeding officer and how I got one of my knuckle scars.

DeMott is bad. Saw a cop pulling over a guy on Ashburn Village this afternoon. I always put my cruise control on 35mph when going through the Village--their policing and enforcement works there.

The rule in our house is pretty simple: play in the BACK yard where cars don't drive. That should not even happen unless one of us is watching. Failure to follow the rule leads to punishment (loss of a privilege, etc. - corporal punishment is not the way in our house). It would never cross my mind to place my own traffic sign in the middle of a state road and make my neighbors have to swerve and dodge to get around it.

    Earlier, 4:00.

Was on Gloucester this morning and saw minivans flying by me going at least 45-50 in a 35mph zone...with those $200 extra fines for speeding, I don't go much above 35...and I was in my fun car :)

I'd agree that those roads are horribly designed. I'm surprised that cops don't spend more time in that area, since it looks to be good for county revenues...

Not sure if I just missed them, but I was driving on Ashburn Village earlier this week and it looked as if the additional fine signs that were under the speed limit signs were removed.

I didn't know if they had to remove the fines or if someone had taken them off.
