    Two things ...

    1. Take the time to call the sheriff's dept, that is not lewd behavior, I believe it could be a case of exposing themselves in public and could be a felony.
    2. Call the HOA, if you can with a number of the truck or license of the truck.

    It was legal ... the contract did stipulate that they had a 30 day clause with no reason needed, we shot ourselves in the foot with that one. But then again, since we had AAA from the beginning, who thought they would do this at the end of the 1st year of a 3 year contract.

    However, we are doing something about it, the best way we can; we've moving our business to someone else. And yes, this next contract shouldn't be so easy to break.

    You can ask to have the toters picked up, but there will be no reduction in cost. However, the new service does provide smaller toters, so that may be your option.

    FWIW ... just using bags tends to allow critters to access the contents, then strew said contents all over the street, and the front of your home. Using a smaller toter will keep said critters out of the trash.

    I can understand the concern.. but I can also say in over 5 years of living in broadlands.. I've never had my bags 'violated' by critters. and I back to woods.

    Biggest critters we have around here are rabbits and chipmunks.

    ..and broadlands south is pretty much a 'clear cut' compared to the North

    I've seen foxes and the occasional deer scurrying around west Broadlands Blvd. And even though the South is relatively 'clear cut', there's enough wooded areas where there is wildlife; its becoming scarcer for sure, but its there.

    Then you have the domestic feline that's 'let out' at night !! We've got quite a few of those.

    Friends of ours in the middle of Ashburn Farms had a raccoon take up residence in their cats house which is located on a covered deck.

    Raccoon came in thru the dog/cat door and like the heated cat house my friend built. Oh, and I doubt the food in the cat dispenser attracted the raccoon to begin with!

    There are plenty of animals in this area that unsecured garbage "may" attract.

    ravens/crows are really bad about pecking through bags and pulling stuff out. And they're everywhere!

    Seen raccoons and oppossums in Broadlands North. There is a dead fawn on Waxpool by the first pool right now.

    I think we missed getting the March newsletter - what are the instructions for the AAA containers?

    any fines for not returning a recycle bin (if someone is not the original home owner and does not have one)

    Put all your AAA toters and bins out for Saturday Morning, April 1st. They will be picked up on that day.

    If you don't have a bin, no problem ... I've got a few I can sell ya .. OOPS, wrong topic ... :whistle:

    Actually, there shouldn't be a problem with not having a bin. I really don't think they know how many are actually out here.

    we have a resident fox that lives in our backyard. he steals all the bread we leave out for the birds and regularly raids our garbage bin (he has mastered opening it and everything). he tears thru all the bags and finds whatever he enjoys eating! he didn't like the leftover honeybaked ham we threw out however! there are certainly plenty of critters who like trash around here. we have stray cats, birds, muskrats, shrews, squirrels, fox, and deer...just to name a few of our regular backyard visitors!

    So it is 4:50, when was AAA going to pick up our trash cans? None on our street have been picked up? And when are the new cans arriving?

    They should be picking them up today, the new cans should be arriving this weekend. Just leave the AAA ones out until they're picked up.
