They came by here (Broadlands north - off Vestals Gap) about 4:40ish.

Not sure who to talk to about the truck drivers - This afternoon our pickup was at 5:30pm. Then came a recycling truck (to which we have no bins for) and then came a second garbage truck - both the recycling and second garbage truck were traveling entirely too fast behind the orignal truck. There are too many kids out playing in and near the street for such driving.

Pass that on to the HOA office, they need that information as they administer the contract.

Sorry folks, I was the victim of incorrect information(2nd hand). The recycle and trash service were both completed by 5:30PM. Maybe they came really late in the day for the recycle. My apologies.

I would like the HOA to speak with the new trash service regarding their drivers. They drive too fast through residential areas. Also, they drive in reverse--fast too--through the cul-de-sacs.

I had no problems at all with the old company, and right now would prefer to have them back unless the new company can start respecting the safety of our neighborhoods.

Is it just me or do the NV trash bins seem smaller than the AAA ones? When ours got dropped off last Saturday (still don’t have the recycle bins), they backed into the court with an 18 wheeler and threw, literally threw the bins out of the back of the truck and then wheeled them to the houses. I was out of town this week but from what I understand they don't pick up the trash until later in the day, which means all the trash sits out all day while the kids are playing outside, kind of gross. I'm all for saving money but these items plus the fast driving should be nipped in the bud before it becomes a habit of NV.

Scottl - they pick trash up ALL day. It depends on where your street is located in their route.

Compared to the AAA bins, the capacity is the same. NV's are shorter but wider.

Call the HOA office when you see this occuring. The HOA staff administers the contract, and they need this data as soon as you can get it to them when it occurs.

My experience with them has been the exact opposite. I have found New Vision's trucks drive much slower through the community than AAA did. I've been watching them in several areas throughout the community and have been impressed with how they drive, how they return the toters to the curb, and how well they pick up ALL the trash. On the last pick-up on my street, after emptying the cans they started driving away. A small plastic lid flew out of the back of the truck. The guy in back hopped off the truck and ran back a block to pick it up.
That said, there may be occasions when they might drive to fast. Your concern has already been forwarded to New Vision.

I'd agree with Cliff on this - NV (at least on our street and Rideway) drives much slower than AAA ever did and they pick up the loose trash. BTW I just got home from work and NV delivered a brand spankin new/shiney recycle bin sometime today! Thank you to the HOA for staying on top of this!

Second straight week, the recycle truck has flown down Larchmont, picked up the paper and cardboard recycle which was right beside the glass and plastic (and left like a bat out of hell) and left the recycle toter (completely full sitting by the curb). Picked up neighbors recycle toters.

Have spoken with HOA office this morning.

I just watched a recycle truck in my court. There were a bunch of kids playing baseball in my side yard. The men were cheering the kids while they worked. When a ball was hit across the street, the driver stopped not only to let a kid get the ball, but also waited for him to get back to the game before driving again. They went around the court very slow and kept good watch out for the kids. It was also nice to see that my bins weren't left in the middle of my driveway as was the customary case with AAA. I used to have to leave my car in the street and move the bins before I could get into my driveway.

New Vision uses TWO recycle trucks. One picks up paper only, and the other picks up the cans/bottles/plastic.
I called about the same thing last week and they explained it to me. The paper truck usually gets done first because it is quicker to just pick up paper. Be patient, the other truck will pick up the rest.
They are hoping to get the compartmentalized trucks in the future so one truck can pick up all recyclables.

Seems to be a delay in getting trash bins to everyone. Any idea when the new service will complete delivery of new trash bins? Seems my row of 6 townhouses has been left out - Foche Terrace. Also recycle bins??

See the post under new trash cans I just reported your street this morning for still needing toaters somehow there has been a problem with the townhomes in the norther sections getting the toaters and bins
