    If I don't need anything anymore and put it out on the curb - I'd just as soon someone else get some use out of it.

    According to the May newsletter, trash should be picked on Monday. I hope so, because I've been cleaning out closets!

    Neither our yard waste or trash was picked up today. Did anyone see them picking stuff up today?

    Our trash was picked up at 7:15 this morning .... grass was never picked up. We were home all day and never saw a 2nd truck come through our neighborhood.

    One truck took both yard waste and trash today about 11 am.

    Um...

    The trash was just picked up on Merion Street (Overland Park) and the recycles (glass/plastics) were dumped into the same trash recepticle as the green trash bin was.

    Can't believe that this is right ... Can anyone comment?

    Our plastics/aluminums weren't picked up yesterday, but cardboard/paper was... ???? (Longleaf Courtyards in SW)

    FWIW - We are on Ardmore - got home at 3:00 papers picked up but recyclables and trash not yet. A little while later trash picked up. A while after that recyclables picked up. Can't say for certain what truck they went into but it was definitely a separate visit from the trash pickup

    2nd Mon in a row that my grass was not picked up ... others' on the block was ... is someone tracking issues or should I just call New Visions directly?

    Not in paper bags but not in plastic either, it would take way too many bags each week with the paper ones. We use 2 large green garbage cans and they have the words "yard waste" spray painted in white. It hasn't been an issue until last week.

    You may want to think about a mulching mower ... I have one, and it chops the grass very fine so it doesn't create much thatch at all.

    There was a short news story yesterday on one of the local TV channels about existing trash company contracts and the cost of gas to pick up the trash. There may be some contract or service renegotiations coming up soon.

    I've notice that this new trash company seems to use more trucks (as in possibly one each for trash, yard waste, paper, and plastic pick-ups) and makes more trips through the neighborhood than the old one did. I hope the HOA has a back-up plan because I don't see this company staying around very long if the cost of gas stays high and they don't rearrange their trips more efficiently.

    The company uses smaller trucks through the neighborhoods, then transfers the collected trash to a larger truck at a collection point. The small trucks head back to the neighborhood, and the large truck to the dump. This does cost them less in diesel fuel.
