News: Kansas community builds their own broadband

    It seems the trend is growing. A community in Kansas has decided to leave their Bell company in the dust and build their own broadband service. Two months ago, the city launched its own high-speed Internet service as a city utility, just like electricity, water, sewer and trash pickup service.

    So, If we can get good coverage with our 802.11 network, and we nail up a few ENUM servers, we could all dump VRZN and have VOIP (Voice over IP)...! I cannot wait. Problem is, we need to find an operator that would take the neighborhood VOIP traffic and gateway to POTS... I'll have to look into that.
