There are no parked cars (Or at least there shouldn't be!) or driveways on Claiborne. It is a primary road not a secondary like Vestals or Demott.

I agree there aren't enough sidewalks (and the sure don't connect!) but you have to admit that Claiborne is there as a primary route for cars not a walking tour. There are plenty of side streets and trails other than Claiborne which I walk/bike quite frequently.

Where is this? Claiborne has path along it all the way up till you reach the edge of broadlands (broadlands blvd). I might be wrong on the southern side of Waxpool, but I'm pretty sure it does there too.

Sometimes the sidewalks/paths switch sides of the road.. but Claiborne doesn't as far as I know.

My beef is mainly along Demott, which is a through road and Claiborne. There are only like 3 houses directly on Demott, all others are on side streets, so the driveways, etc aren't a concern there.

While I agree it would be great to have more paths (especially connecting Broadlands past Broadlands Blvd), I don't think its an excuse to goto the other extreme.

As for people walking their dogs and being 'inconvienced'.. sorry, you knew that possibility when you got a dog.

Don't look for any sympathy here when/if something happens then. Its absurd to run on that road.. its busy.. it had ZERO shoulder.. and was too narrow even for the cars (like down near the ditch that is now gone). The 'legal right' to be there is moot, its about being safe and smart.

Runners on roads like that may cause accidents even if they aren't directly involved.. such as people swerving, people slamming on their brakes, etc.. all increase the risks of accidents.. No one is perfect.. we don't need to give Murphy more opportunities.

I think you can if you walk up Demott.. Broadlands Blvd area I think everyone could agree is still 'under construction' :)

To everyone talking about paths, etc.. be sure to be specific, gather common support.. and goto the HOA meetings to tell them. 50 sporadic responses are alot less powerful then one organized group.

Heck.. take it up to the Recreation Committee as a point.. sure sounds like 'recreation' to me :)
