but they looked okay huh? Didn't watch any of the game, cause after all it's just preseason, but from what I've heard and read...they looked good. Especially the QB's...all of them. Any thoughts?

I watched the game. As a lifelong Redskin's fan, I always feel good during the Season of Optimism. Which we are currently in.

It's hard to judge the effectiveness of individuals at this stage, especially a pre pre-season game; but I must say I was impressed with individual play as well as team play. The team seemed to be very together and responding to Jim Zorn. Zorn seemed to be having a good time and was very engaged with individual players. A lot of energy and a lot of dialog with players as they came off the field. You could tell he coaches and also encourages. That was certainly a good sign, and we'll have to see how that lasts when the road gets tougher during the season.

    Here's my list of positives:

    1. QB play was very strong. Campbell looked very comfortable with the system, and passes looked sharp. It seems Zorn is having him take a longer drop than we saw last year. That will help him a lot. Collins looked good, but I am not a fan, he seemed a little more frantic. It didn't help that the second string O line was breaking down. Colt Brennan was fun to watch. He's a player, and that side arm fling of his is wicked. I doubt his current style is going to last against front line NFL players. He's going to have be more patient and not take as many chances. But he differently is exciting. I liked what Zorn said, he's going to rework his mechanics, and for now that means ignoring his throwing and upper body positioning, he's going to start with his feet.
    2. The overall offense looked real crisp. No obvious mistakes or penalties. They looked well coached. The comment was made that Zorn has preserved the Gibbs running game and overlaid the Seattle passing game. I like that. Can't wait to see this offense with all our front players.
    3. No major injuries.
    4. We won the game with a comeback.
    5. Rookies looked very impressive, especially the o lineman from N. Iowa, Reinhart. He looked very solid. Mason, second year running back looked very good, and I also liked the 7th rounder from UCLA Horton. Solid game in the defensive secondary for him. We didn't get to see the first two draft picks due to minor injuries, Thomas or Malcomb.
    6. First play of the game was a Colt on-side kicked. We recovered. (Horton) After the game Zorn said he wasn't expecting it, but Coach Smith (special teams) said that he had see film of the Colts doing that against a new coach in previous pre-season games. Sign of a good coaching staff, Zorn gave Smith all the credit, and they seemed to enjoy talking about the play together.
    7. Jason Taylor wants to fit in with this group, he apparently has bought over 100 pairs of cleats for his teammates since joining the skins. He is going to be awesome.
    Concerns

    1. Need to keep things in perspective, the Colts sat Manning, Harrison and other starters. Then again, we sat a lot of our main guys too.
    2. Defensive gave up several third down plays for big yardage.
    3. Tryon the rookie corner got burned numerous times. Hard to tell if it was him or others, but he definitely looked lost.
    4. Suisham missed an easy field goal at the end of the half.
    5. The two top rookie receivers didn't play and they have been promising early in camp. Hamstrings. That can linger for all season especially for someone not trained for the duration of an NFL season. They need the work, and if they don't get practicing soon, they won't be making an impact until deeper into the season.
    6. Heyer, offensive tackle, looked at of position the entire night. He was reeling. He should have been more prepared as he's had a lot of experience already for a second year guy. Hopefully, it was just a bad night.
    7. Second string offensive line was porous. We're going to need the depth from that unit as we head to the playoffs:happygrin:

I am not sure, but a lot sat out. De-line was all second string. Come to think of it the only two starters I can think of that played were Doughty and Springs. Oh, Washington played some too.

I know the starting ends sat out (Carter and Taylor), but the defense looked suspect during the first couple drives. They made Jim Sorgi look like Payton Manning. I have a feeling the secondary is going to be the achilles heel this season. Hopefully they can get that buttoned up before they start facing the tough NFC East schedule...

I think the offense looked very good. I liked Colt Brennan's mobility. He could be a quality back-up.

I actually think the secaondary will do fairly well. Shawn Springs thinks this is the best bunch he has played with in his 12 year career.

Also, let's see what the pass rush will be like before we judge the secondary. A good or better pass rush ALWAYS makes the secondary better. :D

I did not like the way Defense tackled...Felt they should wrap up and stop trying for the big hits as often. I was really really impressed by #48 - he played like he wanted to be there. THe other notable was running back #23, I really like the way he would hit the hole.

Yeah, I can't remember his name either, but they (980am) was really talking him up this morning. Portis is over-rated. Let's give Betts some time in the regular season too...not just on 3rd down.

As much as I have unconditional support for the Redskins, Snyder constantly pisses me off. Anyone seen this?

"LANDOVER, Md. (Map, News) - Fans can no longer take a shuttle bus from the Landover Metro station to Washington Redskins games.
The team is ending the shuttles because of federal regulations that prohibit public transit agencies from providing charter bus service if private companies want to do it. The team tried to hire a private bus company, but the deal would have forced a fare increase from $6 to $20.
The Redskins are instead advising fans to take the blue line to the Morgan Boulevard station and walk to the stadium, which is about a mile away.
The Redskins will continue to provide free shuttle service from their cash parking lots."
