Painter Recommendations

Has anyone else used Kris' Painting Service since 2005? Just wanted to know if Kris' was still the best choice in the area.

Kris's painting just did 2 of my neighbors homes again and I am going to have him back to touch up mine again. Last year he painted the Winnie the Pooh preschool (all donated by him) and did a fantastic job such that the church asked him back to paint several other areas for them.
Every time I have been associated with his work he and his crew have been very professional and always been one of the lowest if not the lowest bid.

I recently used Rich Duvall/BRD Painting Inc. for several outdoor power washing and painting tasks. Rich was very responsive, had a reasonable price, and performed quality work. His number is 703-794-0200, cell is 703-955-9546.

 

We used Jon Miller Painting and were very impressed with their service. His crew was very professional and their quality of work was exceptional. I will certainly use them again when the time comes.

WE just had the outside of our house painted. We used MD limited, Mike, 703-932-2439. AWESOME. They use Sherwin Williams Paint, he also does electrical, finishes basements and has lots of connections for windows and such. He is close and 100% reliable. Several painters we called said they would give us an estimate and never showed.

 

Let's Roll Painting just finished painting our exterior trim, doors, front porch, etc. They did an excellent job. They cleaned the entire house prior to painting etc. They went above and beyond with the cleaning. They used the Sherwin Williams paint too. In addition, they have a three year warranty on their work.

Will you PM with a rough idea of cost? I got one for exterior/porch work that did not include powerwashing but did include Caulk from Kris Painting which was around like $3300 - which I thought was alot - considering another quote we got was like $1200

 

Kris may be a good guy and his firm may do good work, but sadly the same can't be said for his subs. Or, at least one of his subs. Kris was hired by one of our neighbors and one Kris' subs backed his truck into our mailbox. I wasn't too worried because the guy was forthright enough to knock on the door, tell us what happened, and that he'd be back on X day to fix it. OK... no big deal.

Fast forward to day X, no show. He then promised day Y. No show. Finally we had the mailbox repaired and the sub promised he'd be by on day Z to reimburse us. Guess what? No show. So now we're out $65 and this guy seems to have vanished.

 

Did you call Kris? Not saying he will but there is a chance he will make amends.

 

I am bringing this thread up again, just to see if anyone has kudos or recommends anyone to do exterior painting and rotted wood replacement.

 

I think I've recommended House Doctors in a prior thread. They do both interior & exterior and they're really professional. They were reliable and did quality work. What I liked best is that they prepped everything and didn't take shortcuts. I'm really picky and expect flawless jobs and I've been really happy with them. I would highly recommend QRS Home Remodeling for anything to do with....well, basically anything. We met Scott while remodeling our kitchen, which was a huge job, basically taking 4 rooms and making it one (greatroom). He did a wonderful job there, then on our deck adding seats to our deck (we built it) and then in my brand new store over here in Brambleton Town Center. He and his helper Guy and I did all the work.....they are amazing. Excellent price, Scott is the owner and will be on-site all the time, and they have so much knowledge....and every tool ever made to boot. We primed and painted the entire inside of my store in ONE DAY. If you came in to see the work, you'd understand. He is a master carpenter and home remodeler. Obviously he is a close personal friend now, but I couldn't give the overall operation a higher recommendation.

also. He's done exterior painting and rotten wood replacement for me and he recently did a big job for my friend where she had rotten wood in like five or six windows and several front porch columns. At least let him give you an estimate - he's great!

 

Cannot say enough good things about Kris' Painting Service, 571-220-0749.

His crews have done NUMEROUS projects in Broadlands including the HOA controlled buildings. They do all aspects of painting, including fixing imperfections.

 

I am sure Kris did a great job, he was very high priced based on other quotes we received for caulking and painting on the exterior.

 

That is unusual every time I have had several quotes Kris's painting has always been several hundred is not a thousand dollars lower. He has done all kinds of work for us and we have been very happy.

Hi! We literaly just had (completed today) our entire first level painted. I used Gary Kobb's CertaPro painters. They were excellent. They were not overpriced, on time, neat, and very professional. He can be reached at 703-777-1874.

 

Cast another vote for Kris' Painting. They did a great job on our exterior last Spring, as well as crown moulding in the living room. We thought his prices were very reasonable, and his staff was polite and kept the house very clean.

 

DO NOT use Larry Jones (out of Sterling) either... just walked out on a job to replace hardwoods in our basement. We are out a few $K and the insurance company cant do anything about it... this was all the result of water damage.

 

I wanted to update this. Giovani (I think that was the guy's name) never did come back to fix this or reimburse us, both of which he said he'd do multiple times. My husband finally decided to call Kris last week. Kris said he was aware of the situation the day after it happened but he thought Giovani had taken care of it. When my husband told him the full story, Kris jumped immediately and in today's mail we received a check from him to reimburse us the cost of having the mailbox replaced.
