Anyone familiar with the Patch Perfect product? It's touted as a super grass that grows anywhere, even on concrete. What's the science behind it and are there any cons? I checked around the web and cannot find anything about it other than on their own website.

    KTdid-
I have seen that commercial, and thought, "Wow- that is pretty amazing."

However- the type of seed is important to know. If it is a type of perennial rye, or rapid blue grass, it is a shock of fast new growth, followed quickly by a thinning and browning out.

Having no experience with this product, its hard to say. Would be interesting to see what it can do. I will check it out through my resources, and let you know what I find out.

I found the following on a garden web forum:

Evening Shade Perennial Ryegrass, FA-155 Tall Fescue, Baron Kentucky Bluegrass, Boreal Fine Fescue.
Includes approx. 42.87% Terra-Mulch and 28% Pinnacle Seed coating.
They recommend that you spread evenly 1/4" thick.
One bag contains a double order and weighs 24 oz.
No instructions on when to plant.
    It comes from Canada.

Found out my neighbor used it and their lawn is lush, green and thick. I'm waiting for the down side but haven't seen it yet.

When my lawn was aerated and overseeded last fall some of the plugs that were made didn't have seed so I have small bare spots to repair.

The general concensus on the forum is "do not waste your money". But I'm still curious.
