Does anyone know if there are plans to extend the pathway (sidewalk) on Claiborne parkway to connect Broadlands to Ashburn Farm? (past the Safeway)

I like to run down to the WO&D trail, but always fear that I will become a hood ornament when I run this stretch of the road.
    Thanks!

That would be great, but I think that land is owned by the state or the Greenway. Kind of a no man's land.

A year ago I pursued information about an extension of the pathway under the Greenway to connect the developments. It was recommended to me to contact the Greenway since the responsibility was theirs(?). It took some effort to get a response, but I received emails from them letting me know that there were plans to put a path on one side of Claiborne connecting Broadlands and Ashburn Farm. When I pushed further to get a timeframe I received no response.

It certainly wouldn't hurt to pursue the issue with them again!

2x/wk I run that route and I am frequently worried about getting hit. I also wanted to pursue replacing the yield sign with a stop sign for those cars exiting the westbound Greenway at Claiborne, because the cars who continue towards Ashburn Farm frequently don't stop and I've almost become a hood ornament lots of times. The response that I got was that the intersection was designed to be a yield, end of response. I honestly don't care how it was designed but as a driver and pedestrian I have had many close calls. (OK, I'm off my soapbox.)

Cliff, are you aware of any plans for a walkway?

    longtimer-
I am aware that Terrabrook has tried to work on it, and I'm pretty sure Ashburn Farm has tried to work on it, but I don't know where the process stands. I was under the impression that the Greenway was not interested in considering it anytime soon.
I have contacted an Ashburn Farm HOA member and suggested that Broadlands would work with them to see if we could make it happen. I'm wondering if the two HOAs paid the cost to install it, then the Greenway could then just maintain it.
With Terrabrook selling out, I don't know how much further activity there will be on this from the developer side.
