I also had Wacker out 2 weeks ago, and will call on them again when the need arises.

We use Plumb Crazy. Excellent prices and service, far cheaper than anyone else we have called (never walled Wacker however).

We called Plumb-Crazy. They were to show up between 2 and 4. No one showed, and when we called they apologized that they had not written down our appointment, but promised to show at 5:15. By 6:30 no one had arrived...and no calls...so we left a message and told them not to bother.

    Word to the wise....

We need to fix a tiled shower in our basement that was put in a few years ago. Apparently the tile leaked causing heavy mold around the entire frame under the tile. We are thinking of changing to a tub to correct the problem. My husband spent the better half of the day tearing out the entire tile shower floor, and moldy 2x4's and used mildew killer to clean and scrub all the mold. We seem to have gotten rid of that problem, but now need someone to advise on where to go from here. Any ideas? Is wacker who we should call or can someone recommend someone else?

We're currently having our master bathroom redone because of a similar problem with our master shower thanks to our builder using sub-standard installation. I highly recommend Terry O'Neill - incredibly professional and the work is beautiful so far.

Thanks for the recommendation! I just got off the phone with Terry. He sounds like he knows his stuff, and I was impressed with his work shown on the website. Nice guy! He is going to come over tomorrow and look at the shower. Thanks again:)

    called Wacker- no answer...

has anyone used F.H. FURR? we have an odd leak toward the middle of our kitchen ceiling, between the island and the sink-no apparent leaks upstairs. we have a Deleware model home, in case anyone else has had this same problem. the plaster tape 9that's what my hubby called it, i think) is bubbling up and it appears that water is collecting and about to put a hole thru the ceiling. then there is one slow dripping drip a few feet from that.

always on a saturday morning... lol

We called Wacker and they came back WAY high. What I found is that if you call 9 different plumbers, you get 9 different opinions as to what your problem is. We decided to go with FH Furr. They were reasonably priced and Kevin Fulp, the guy who came out to give me the quote seemed like he knew his stuff.

On another note: to those of you who were having mold issues like us, we called our insurance company to see if our homeowners policy would cover the damage, always thinking it was a long shot because we had the bathroom installed ourself, but they came back and not only covered the shower repair, but also the carpet for the entire basement b/c the water seeped through and we have mold in one area, but the carpet is continuous so the whole thing needs to be replaced. The policy did not cover the cost of plumbing, but the allowance they gave us, will more than cover what we will end up paying for the plumber's expense. I can't guarantee insurance will cover everyone's problems but it is worth calling to find out. We were very pleasantly surprised!

Do you have the telephone number for FH Furr handy? Need to have one of those dual water filter systems installed under the kitchen sink.

That is great to hear...they haven't actually started the work, we just hired them yesterday. I'll let you know how things turn out. Also have K&K carpet coming tomorrow to give us a quote. You all had such good things to say and the guy I talked to on the phone was super nice. I was very impressed!

Called FH Furr to come out to my house re: our smelly sink problem. They sent someone out within 2 HOURS, diagnosed the problem, and gave me an estimate. They also showed me how to fix it myself. No charge to come out, no charge for the estimate, nothing. He even wore the shoe booties! I was impressed.
