And if you do happen to visit one of our pools and happen to see Staci, please take a minute to walk up to her and THANK her for all her hard work once again this year getting all the pools up and running and open on time.

    Staci, THANK YOU!

Kids are EXCITED! Do you happen to have water temperature readings for the pools? Thanks.

    Thank you, Staci!

As tends to happen every year, at least one of the pools hits capacity over the first weekend and the pool staff have to turn people away (usually leading to an angry forum thread, also). Is there any trend on this in terms of which day that tends to happen, which pool, or what time of day so people can be prepared for the possibility?

When I was a kid - I didn't care what the temperature was - I dove right in.....ended up blue, but that was ok - I was swimming!!! :) Now, as an adult, not so much like cold water......but I still dive right in, just won't stay in until I'm blue. LOL

I was actually surprised it was in the mid 70's yesterday. I think it will be very refreshing if it gets hot like it has been this week, but if it is only about 75 degrees air temp the water is going to feel colder.

Southernwalk pool normally hits capacity 1st and normally on the 1st NICE day (ie sunny and over 85). Normally in the 2pm to 4pm range. That said we have not hit capacity at any of the pools the last 2 summers as I was able to get the county to increase the max bather load. Hoping for 3 summers in a row :) I have restarted my Twitter feed for those of you following the bhoapools to let you know about openings, closings, and any other pool related information. This info is also posted at the top of the forums as well as the main page of the website.

Yep the water will be very chilly, so much so that my foot arches cramp up as soon as they hit the water. Never is warm enough for many days in a row to get the water heated up and ready for the first person in:) Sure the hail last night helped chill it even more.

Southern Walk pool was vandalized last night. The pool was delayed opening but everything should be running smoothly now. Anyone who may have any information on who is committing this crime please contact me or the HOA office. Security was on the premises and I have some information on who is doing this and plan to prosecute the full extent the HOA can.
Thank you for your patience today

I wanted to confirm that Summerbrooke today was not nearly as cold as last spring... a little chilly, but nice and refreshing. It WAS getting crowded! (maybe b/c of the delay at Southern Walk?)

(and thanks for your hard work, Staci!)

We took our 6 month old to the pool on Waxpool today and it was so fun! We were having a blast until some kids (with their parents in tow!) who were way older than 6 decided to do cannonballs in the baby pool (yes, in 1-2 feet of water). I would have hoped that the parents would stop the boys, but they were pretty oblivious of the problem. Do lifeguards keep an eye on the kiddie pool and who is in it or is it up to the parents to work it out? We really weren't looking to cause a fuss so we just left, but I don't want to feel like a tattletale or get into a confrontation over something that is supposed to be fun.

Any chance of getting more bike racks put in at all the pools?

Parents are suppose to be supervising children in the wading pools. If they are not being supervised or they are obviously older then the max age of 6 then talk to the manager and he can handle the situation. In general they lifeguards do not monitor the baby pools.

I do not have a whole lot of space to put any more in especially at Community center. I know they are used very heavily on the few days we are busy but most of the season they seem to be ok. Do you have any one pool in particular in mind? I am happy to look into seeing what I can do.

Thanks Staci! I didn't know there was a pool manager. Is there always one on duty?

Yes each pool has a pool manager. From you post I am guessing you were at Summer Brooke (on Demott) and the manager there is Jakub. When you walk into any of the pools there is a water quality board posted and it should have the managers name listed on it. If not all you need to do is ask one of the guards and they should be able to help.

We are equidistant to the Southern Walk and Community pools, so either of those two would be great to have more bike racks. Trying to do my part to be green and save on gas. Plus, wouldn't want anyone to steal my Walmart "special" :D Although, I'm sure theft hasn't been much of an issue. Today, at both pools, we saw quite a bit of bikes thrown down just about everywhere.
