First session was tonight at 7:00 at Heritage High in Leesburg.
Second session tomorrow night at 7:00 at Heritage High in Leesburg.
Auditorium was packed with citizens speaking in support of fully funding the school budget and some other social programs.
Only one speaker spoke against an increased tax rate.
The bottom line is that you get what you pay for, and if you want to live in Loudoun County and have homes that increase in property value and outstanding schools you need to pay for those benefits.
If you are in support of fully funding the budget please let the Board of Supervisors know so. Even if you are not going to speak, applaud those who speak in favor of your opinion to demonstrate your support.

    School Spending Raises Property Values
"… A $1.00 increase in per pupil state aid increases aggregate per pupil housing values by about $20.00, indicating that potential residents value education expenditure."

Except that VA is a Commonwealth and we only get back $0.20 on the dollar if we are lucky. Why should we bear the weight of the state on our shoulders. It would be one thing if the rates were equal among counties but they're not.

The Republicans in Lo. Co. will never let the school budget pass. They'll chop it down significantly! They ran on a ticket of lower taxes, so we should have seen it coming.
