So what you're telling me is to avoid this road on my way to the gym on these days. :)

Has anyone ever been to one of these things? My husband is a major Redskins fan and I was thinking of sending him tomorrow with our two little guys, 3 and 5. Do they really have to be in the lot at 7 AM? What else should I know? Thanks.

I drove by there around 8:30 this morning and there was no traffic and still plenty of parking. They have everyone park on the grass on the left side of the road and there were lots of cars there already, but hardly packed. If they want to be right up against the action though, i'd suggest getting there early.

It's a great experience for a Redskin's fan. Do your husband a favor and send him without the kids. 3 and 5 is a little young. There are no bleachers, most stand up the whole time and walk with the action. Nothing to do other than watch the practice, the kids will probably be bored.

Parking should not be too much of a problem. How bad can it be when the three Redskins fans show up?

    :)

I heard that the players never went over to see the fans at the fence, but headed instead to the VIP area...:shakehead:

I took my 6 and 12 year old this morning -- it was broiling at first but then clouded over and not so uncomfortable. My 6 year old and most of the same age kids around us asked "when can we go home?" after about 10 minutes. Not much to hold their attention. My 12 year old and I really enjoyed it. When we got there, the fence was packed about 2-5 deep but we walked all the way down to the end near the trees, at the end zone line where no one was. Then, the offense spent most of their time practicing down at our end, awesome view. BTW, Colt appeared much more accurate than Jason. We left just before the end so I can't say whether the players stayed around for autographs.

My family and I went a few of years ago, hoping to get a couple of autographs and see how they practice. We sat on the hill and got a nice view of the field, but most of the time ALL of the players were just standing around listening to the coaches speak. The most ativity came from the kickers and watching Cooley wearing the "SHORTS". Before the practice was over, my kids and I made it down to the fence and at the end of practice 95% of the players ran staight into the locker room, a couple of players were signing but watching the people pushing to get an autograph was enough to make me get the kids and leave. The only thing good that day was getting 2 water bottles for the kids that Gatorade was giving away. For me the trip isn't worth it.

Now, if your kids are in a daycare that visits training camp then they will have a blast. My kids went and got a bunch of auto's and were able to talk to Joe Gibbs and some of the players. When the talked to Joe, they forgot to ask for an autograph, too nervous :)!
