Hi, I hope this isn't a repeat or off-topic question, but I noticed in the Broadlands newsletter that this weekend is "Rescue the Cedar Trees" weekend, will the water restrictions affect our ability to adequately water the transplanted trees?
    Based on this:

"To reiterate, the restrictions applied by this county resolution include:
    • "Watering of lawns and landscaping, except using three-gallon containers (with the exception of vegetation planted since September 1, 2007)"
It would seem it's OK to water any Cedars we may rescue as needed to ensure they take root in their new location, correct?

    Thank you,
    - A

Pretty sure restrictions do not apply to "new plantings" as long as they were/are planted after Sept 1

    Are you sure about that?

It's pretty clear that things planted after September 1st are allowed to be watered, but what's not clear is if you're encouraged to plant things after September 1st! Seems to me like LCSA would rather you wait to plant new vegetation. That's just my opinion though.

That is my interpretation of the restriction. Then again, new plantings can be watered using a 3-gallon container, it's just not frugal to plant now given the drought.

I also apparently got the weekend wrong... looks like "rescue the cedars" is next weekend.
    Oops.
