I'll have to add a plug for the "pancake breakfast" at the Firehouse once a month. It's all you can eat of scrambled eggs, cheese eggs, two types of hash browns, sausage, bacon, biscuits/gravy, and, of course, pancakes. The volunteer staff are very friendly and it's $6 per person (cheaper for kids, but since I don't have any small ones, I don't remember the price).

All the proceeds benefit the volunteer fire company there - you know, the guys and gals that protect your neighborhood resources!

It's held the second Sunday of each month from about 8 am to noon. The kids can climb all over the fire trucks when they're done eating and I think they give out cutesy fireperson hats for kids.

When the weather permits, it's a great place to ride your bike to...just down the W&OD trail from the end of Claiborne Parkway...

One small warning...the "founders hall" where it's held is usually very well air conditioned...

I'd like to suggest Yoko in Herndon (on Elden Street, not too far from Reston). It is a great sushi place and even has some good vegetarian dishes. The address and a Post review can be found at:

I had a great time at Galelio. There was a long wait but we expected it. The trick is to make reservations and have a backup plan to keep yourself occupied. The food was good, but it's Tapas, so if your expecting full course meals, this is not the place for you.

We read a great article in the Post on Mango Thai this weekend. It's nearby in the Countryside area. The food was EXCELLENT, and the service was the best that I have seen in a small restaurant in our area. I definitely recommend it.

We expected Tapas, but honestly the service was also really poor. We had reservations far in advance and still had a rather long wait. We have been to many 4 four star restaurants and Inn at Little Washington, we must have gone on a very bad day for them then.
