If it is like the other Outback's when they opened it will be more like

"Wait Out Back" for a table! [:p]

Is this the "restaurant park"? My husband was told that there was going to be a Harry's Tap Room, a Five Guys Burgers & Fries, a coffee shop, and an Asian restaurant. This was a while ago, so I don't know how accurate it is now.

Designed with an urban-flair, the project will be unique to the area, as it will incorporate lush landscaping, outdoor seating and storefronts with variety. The Restaurants at Ashburn Park will not be a typical restaurant park. It will be an oasis of unique foods in an area lacking in options in quality. The targeted mix includes a number of fast casual options including Zyng (zyng.com), Masala Wok (masalawok.com) and Sorrento Grill (www.sorrentogrill) as our committed Asian, Indian and Mediterranean concepts. We are seeking to compliment them coffee, cafe, baker, ice cream and Mexican uses, while also adding two full service restauarnts.

I hope this Harry's is better than the Arlington location. That place sucks. Never had a good meal there. Atmosphere is so so. Had better times at Witlows or Clarendon Grill.

In speaking with the Sales Mgr at the Homewood Suites, she was saying they have a Spring targeted completion date.

What a line of crap [ashburn park's tag line]. This area is chock full of choices,

Mediterranean - Mediterranean Breeze, Omia's, Amphora
    Mexican - Zarrou
Chinese - too many to name
    Italian - San Vito, Domani's
Upper Middle Cost: Bonefish, 321 Ashland
    Irish - Kirkpatricks
Indian - don't know the name of the one in the village
    Ice Cream - Maggie Moo's
    Coffee - Starbucks
Baker - Safeway is actually good for this!

So, no Ashburn Park is not unique! Ashburn rocks when it comes to eating out w/o having to go to Reston/Tysons/DC

What this area needs is a large family friendly restaurant. Something along the lines of Champs in Reston. Someplace with a variety of food -- and plenty of choices for kids. Someplace that is an evening out for the parents, but isn't too restricted for kids choices. San Vito is nice, but relatively small, and a break from Italian would be welcome. Does this mean a big 'ole chain place? Probably. But how about a crazy idea of serving the community you're in? In other words: FAMILIES!!!

I thought that the Steakhouse was a good family-friendly place. Even though the bar allows smoking, it didn't filter into the restaurant area. There are always a couple of TV's with kids shows on them, and it is loud enough that a couple of loud kids aren't going to be too distracting to everyone else. [Not that I encourage people to let their kids scream in the restaurant, but every once in a while it happens before you can get a handle on it...]

We need a good Northeast style Italian restaurant that is not a chain and does not claim to be an "italian" restaurant, yet serves Greek food! We just don't have a lot of free standing restaurants that are not chains attached to some supermarket complex!

Old Dominion Brewpub -- no smoking, kid-friendly, good food and, more importantly, great beer.

    Maybe this will help.

    Five Guy Burger and Fries
    Moe's Southwest Grill
    Masala (Indian)
    TBD-seeking coffee/juice/ice cream user
    Sorrento Grill (Mediterranean)
    Pizzeria al Forno
    Sala Thai
    TBD-seeking restaurant user

The sign at the stripmall with the Shell gas station on Waxpool also indicates a Pho Bistro (Vietnamese) on the way.

It looks like they removed the Damon's Grill from the Ryan Park Center site plan (in front of Home Depot), although Applebee's is still there.

I hope all of those places can make it in the same location. It will probably be a very popular area for those going for lunch from the MCI/Verizon and AOL areas. Will be tough to compete for the dinner crowds with nothing else over there, although would be fairly convenient for most to pull in on their way home since it's on the right side of the street.

There are also plans for four restaurant pad sites on the corner of Farmwell & Ashburn Village Blvd. (Across from Food Lion)
