Uh oh. I guess we'll have to find another place to watch the Cowboys games that aren't on regular TV.

That place needs some serious ambiance. I felt like I was in a warehouse whenever I went there.

I have always appreciated your enthusiasm redon, but never understood your passion for the place. The burgers had some "funky" taste to them. Garlic maybe? All three times we went we had the same young guy, who had the memory and attention span of someone not cut out to be a waiter. Not to mention the tables had some funky greasy/sticky feel. Yeah, no, not surprised.

Now Cafe Rumi...I got your back!

Not suprised Village Grill shut down. Went once, not so good...

On a side note, went to Teds Montana Grill in Sterling with a $25 restaurant.com certificate. Never been before and it was awesome.

i wasn't a fan of the burgers either- i'm a Fosters kinda gal! but their cheesesteak- xlnt. crab dip- delish. loved the breakfast burritos too! it was not the greatest, be all end all american style restaurant but the food was as good as comparable restuarants in Ashburn- better than many.

i also loved the owner's committment to the community- discounted team parties and club meetings, charity events, sponsoring little league teams, nightly specials, bands, karaoke, poker- what more does a guy have to do to succeed here?

the rent must be as inflated as the housing prices- Ashburn will continue to chase out good, honest, hard working entrepreneurs with business duplication that spreads consumers too thin, no corporate businesses to generate enough lunch crowds (come on Raytheon and Visa!!!) and lousy plaza layouts that are hard to get in and out of and dying strip malls. add to that bloated rent rates that may have been accurate IF the big businesses had come to/stayed in Ashburn, providing customers, but they didn't.

so now amazing places like Cafe Rumi will operate on a shoestring, and Paris Prestige will fly under the radar (yes- they chose a horrible location- maybe it was the only reasonably priced location...? 5 burger joints, 5 pizza joints, 4 thai restaurants and countless Asian restaurants will compete for a shrinking pool of consumers who are suffering as well in a down economy.

I will continue to fight the good fight for independent bizzes, but for the love of all that's holy- POTENTIAL NEW BIZ OWNERS- do your market research!!! ask the locals about certain locations! if one exists withn 5 miles DO NOT open another one!!!

rant off... off to Broadlands Live at Bluz Brothers!!!!!

I love Teds Montana Grill and their Bison beef - yummy. Because of them - we've been buying bison and doing it on the grill. Yes - that means we don't go there to eat that often, but it is a nice place to go.

Buffalo Wild Wings is a Family Style Sports Bar - at least in the daytime and in one side of the restaurant, obviously not the bar side! There are tables and LOTS of TV's, and the quiz style game is one we all enjoy! LOVE that place.

This place beats all wings around too! Can't wait for the one to open by Wegmans! We are there for all OSU and maybe even Buffalo Bills games. An excuse to cheat on the diet a little. OK Maybe a lot.

    Oh no, not Village Grill!!
We actually really liked Village Grill and I have a stockpile of restaurant.com gift certs.
The kids really liked eating there. They got a decent sized meal plus a whole cup of Edy's dibs at the end.
I used to get the tuna steak sandwich and it was always good.
    So sad.
I felt they were a lot better than Beef O Brady's.
I got a facebook message from the manager saying he was leaving. This was about a week ago and it said nothing about the place closing.
I'm sorry there weren't more folks who liked it!

humm, I thought it was generic sysco blah food... the only reason we went there twice was the restaurant.com coupons ... the kids dessert was nice though :)

It was definitely our go to because of the restaurant.com certificates as well. I saw them at other tables almost every time we went so I hope that didn't contribute too much to their demise. Whenever I'd go to buy a cert. they were always available so it makes me wonder how many they allowed the site to sell. If I understand it correctly they only "have" so many coupons and certain restaurants sometimes wouldn't have them available all the time.

Although even with the coupon, we were spending around $30 with the added tip so the frequency of our visits wasn't that often. I always have restaurant remorse thinking about what I could have bought at the store for $30. Then again I think it's important to support local businesses too.
Doug the manager used to be on the boards--if you're here dude, tell us what happened!!!

IHOP is still doing kids eat free by the way. On their site it said that it ended on 9/17 but the hub and I went to breakfast there the other day and it was plastered all over the place and the waitress seemed to think it would be that way for a while.

Starbucks in Ashburn Village Shopping Center is closing next week.
They said Saul was jacking up the rents 50% and they couldn't afford it.

Saul's is not exactly keeping up that plaza either. I wonder how Bonefish and the Steak house are fairing? I know their rent and leases are due (it's been about 5 years since they opened the doors)
