Got the Fios installed yesterday. Still getting used to it. Does anyone know how to block the "adult" on demand section?

Do you know if you can "back-record" a show if the channel was on when it started like you can with TiVo?

How many tuners does it have? Can you record two things at once? If so, can you still watch another channel, or must you watch the DVR at that point?

    Thanks.

I can help with some of your questions related to the FiOS DVR. It does have two tuners. You can record two channels at once. As for watching while you are recording, if only one tuner is recording then you can watch anything else you want on the other tuner. If both tuners are recording, you can't watch another channel, however, you can watch another show you have recorded.

I'm sure someone else can answer your other questions...

Yes, you can block Adult content, as well as many other things. There's a section where you can assign a special 'code' that needs to be entered in order to view any shows of a particular 'rating'. That same code can also be assigned to be used for all Pay-Per-View/On Demand purchases.

One thing that I don't think is possible though is to 'block' the adult content from appearing in the list of On Demand selections. You can block the purchase/viewing of such content, but I don't think you can block the synopsis from appearing. If someone has found a way to do this, I would be interested in how this is accomplished. There's no need for my kids to be reading some of that stuff...

I haven't tried the 'back record' option like Tivo has; I would assume it does do this though, since even the VERY crappy dvr DishNetwork offered us for a while had that feature... Best thing to do is to try it yourself on a 30 minute program or something.

Razng2grtboys answered your third question perfectly.

You can do the back record thing if it was on that channel. I have done it before.

There is an option to block Adult Title as well (blocks title and synopsis).

So we did the thing yesterday where we block the descriptions of adult content, but it covers all MA rated shows, so if we record Lost or Rescue Me or anything like that, it shows up in the list as "adult"... I wonder if there's a way to just get rid of the "adult" section, like hide it or something.

one more question, does anyone know how we can add more hours to the recording ability?

Normal shows like Lost and Rescue Me are not MA rated on my unit and display fine. Not sure why that would be on yours...

I don't think there's any way to add recording space. Currently, you cannot add an external expansion drive.
