I am not intentionally trying to stir the pot with you cuz you know I luv ya BUT where is a child learning the vast majority of lessons in vanity and self-esteem? From a possible one-time photo touch up that they would probably neve know anything about or watching mommy put on make-up most every morning or daddy making sure not a hair is out of place?

Of course most parents accept their child the way they are but most of us also contradict that because we alter our appearance daily!

i love ya too t8, but you are just so darn ABSOLUTE. where's the grey my friends- where is the GREY? (you say in my hair and YOU DIE. :nono:)

how's this: there is a time and place in life for enhancing your physical features, and i do not believe that middle school pictures is an appropriate time or place. retouches that don't alter the kid's true appearance are acceptable. having pieces of them rubbed out because the kid or parent sees them as a flaw- i do not agree with.

It is an absolute day for me darlin. I am home all day and night with Connor who is getting over the flu. He WAS on tamiflu but it made him extremely irritable and gave him bad nightmares. He has only had a couple of meltdowns this morning over ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. So I am spoiling for a fight!

Wonder if Buffett learned quick draw with his weapon? I did! :D

I think the point of the retouching is to lessen the appearance of a big pimple which unluckily happened to be on the kid's face on picture day. I don't think the kid wants to look at a photo of that - a reminder of adolescent awkwardness and embarrassment. What's the big deal? The pimple isn't part of a child's identity is it? Away with the pimples!

OMG. We haven't had our pics yet. When we do I will check this out.

I would hope there is a check here clause that if you don't want touch ups then that is OK and the direction is followed. Is there a clause? Maybe in the fine print??

It's not in fine print. It's pretty straight forward. You choose one of three options: No retouching, basic retouching (removes just blemishes), or premium retouching (whitens teeth, evens skin tone, removes blemishes, scars, and fly away hair).

I don't ever buy school pictures for my children.
    #1 They are too expensive
#2 I don't think they do a good job. It doesn't look natural

My kids already know this and they are fine with it.
I have a good friend who is an excellent photographer. She always takes their pictures. Mezzullophotography.com Check it out!

Ummmm. I've seen some of those pictures. I'm really not sure your parents cared, either. I'm just sayin'.

I filled out my 5th grade daughter's picture form tonight. I wish they would make the "package" ordering simpler. I just want a basic 5x7, a couple of 3x5's and some wallets. I was able to get what I wanted by choosing remove this, remove that, add this, etc.. Why can't I just choose what and how many I want?

Poor chickie does have a large blemish that showed up on her cheek this morning and was asking if I could put make up on it. I told her, "don't worry, I'll get the digital retouch that will get rid of it." :devil2: And I did.
