I agree that the color is hideous and out of place.

I'm OK with it, just looking forward to the pub.

I think the color is okay, fits right in with Broadlands theme.
The style is weird with the paneling up top. kind of ugly.

We just returned from a walk. We went over to the little shopping center and had a look from across the street.
I think it looks okay. I can't think of a color that would look better.
My daughter thinks it should be creme colored.
Is the trim going to be a different color?? The brown red does not look good with the "toothpaste" green.
What other colors do you think it should be?
I dunno, I think it looks okay. Let's wait and see...

I don't like the current color. I was hoping/expecting it was a primer, too.

Found this in last weeks Wash. Biz. Journal:

... In April, Ashburn will welcome three restaurants to a newly developed shopping center.

Broadlands Pub & Grill, an upscale English-style pub equipped with TVs; Cafe Opera, a pan-Asian restaurant and Corner Pizza, which will sell brick-oven pizza and subs, will open in the Broadlands Retail and Office Center. Cafe Opera and Corner Pizza will offer eat-in or delivery service.

The center also will house a dry cleaner, beauty salon, nail salon, Allstate Insurance and several doctors' offices.

The developer, Reston-based Tetra Partnerships (www.tetrapartners.com), is in negotiations for a bank on a 3,500-square-foot pad site. Still available is a 3,200-square-foot pad site with a drive-thru.

The center, on Truro Parish Drive, was designed by Rounds VanDuzer Architects (www.rvarchitects.com).

Still no mention of an ice cream shop. :(

RV Architects..... Hmmm. now that you mention it, they have a lot of RVs in Miami... maybe that's where the color came from...

Yeah! That makes for 5 asian style eateries, 4 salons and 3 dry cleaners all within Broadlands. Now when they build up the Clydes shopping center I'm sure we'll have at least 7 asian style eateries, 6 salons and 4 dry cleaners.

Is Asian food that popular? You would think a mexican place would come in. Where is Baja fresh or Chipotle?

The shopping center that Clydes is going in, the one with LC School Admin building. What is that area going to be called. I'm assuming that other things than Clydes and the admin will be built there or is it all corporate like the area around Sweet Water?

I find it very interesting that the Clyde’s in Alexandria is right next to the Alexandria School admin building and our Clyde’s is next to the LCPS admin building. No I'm not thinking conspiracy or anything just "Boy are those Clyde’s people really smart"!

That's pretty nice. Hope it comes out that way. But what else is going there?

Clyde's is a stand alone restaurant, not part of a shoppong center. Right now, the plans are, from west to east, for the hospital, the School Administration Building, and Clyde's. The remaining property east of Clyde's to Claiborne is unsold. It is capable of supporting over a million square feet of offoce space.

So it would be setup more like the area around Sweet Water in Sterling than shopping center. Is there any rhyme or reason to it or is it a free for all and whomever buys it could build to suit? I dream of a real movie theater opening up in Ashburn somewhere. Sigh.

    Homer-
It's somewhat of a free-for-all. Each facility will have its own disstinct location, but all will be able to be accessed from a common drive.
