    When is Clyde's opening?

And have they started building it yet?

    Thank you!

My guess would be mid to late 2005. Not yet.

Umm, and we thought it couldn't get any worse ;)

I should hold judgment until they are finished, but it now looks like someone has pelted some of the upper triangular keystone sections (of the monster building) with Virginia's red-brown clay mud. It looks like the color that my dad painted our deck back in the 70s. Yikes!

Just take a look tomorrow. At the new shopping center at Chicacoan and Truro Parish. It looks like they've stained the siding in some places above the second story walkway. The darkness of the stain just doesn't go with the partly-mint-green-and-partly-tan rest of the siding. But maybe this really dark stain is some kind of primer?!? We can hope.

Maybe we should all wait until it's finished to pass judgement.

I didn't think it was possible, but the current color scheme of the building is now the worst it has been! What are they thinking? That thing is u-u-u-u-u-gly!

I'm still waiting. Yeah, it looks creepy...

Let's wait & see. Maybe with the land scaping and everything put together it will look okay.
I walk by it every day.
I just can't tell right now...

Well, it looks like that's the final color. I see the store signs are going up. I'm sorry but that may be the ugliest color combination on a building I have ever seen!

When I walked by this morning a sign was up on the building that I'm still laughing about - it says Ashburn Medical Center, but because they put some silly icon in front of the "A" it looks like CASHBURN Medical Center.
    Appropos I suppose...;)

Yes, I think this building is uglier than the little School across the street from it (with the dumb blue roof).
The mint is okay... I just don't like the colors on top, the brownish red and the bile green, those are "warm" colors and the building is a "cool" mint color. It does look very bad... wow. Broadlands, stylin' like the ghetto. :p

We homeowners need architectural review approval to repaint our front doors the same color. Yet somehow this thing gets approved. I had always hoped to reserve judgement until it was completed, but it just keeps looking worse. It unequivocally has to be the most hideous excuse for architecture and color I've ever seen. Who's minding the store here? If I built a shed in my backyard that looked like that I would be ordered to tear it down.

Who makes the decisions on design for our neighborhood?
We need to fire them now before this gets out of control...

The Developer, formerly TerraBrook and now Van Metre, has the architectural approval authority over commercial properties. When I last asked Van Metre, they stated they could not find the approved color scheme (or whether one was submitted) for the building.

So it appears then that no one is minding the store...and we have colors thrown up there by a guy who's color blind in one eye and can't see out of the other.
