We live in a VM Sinclair model, and two of our under-counter light bulbs are burnt out. I cannot find replacements anywhere--I have checked Home Depot and Lowes, and checked on the internet. They are 50 watt bulbs with a ceramic base, however, it is a short little bulb. I found a 50 watt ceramic base at Home Depot, but it was twice as long as what I need. Has anyone had any luck finding such a bulb? Please help.[xx(]

Try Dulles Electric off of Sterling Blvd near route 28. Thats where I got my replacement, they are not cheap I think $15-20 a piece.

Cricket is right on - Dulles Electric is the only place I found them. I took in an old bulb so they could match it because every time I tried to describe what it was confusing them :)

Don't bother with Home Depot or Lowes and yes, they are a bit pricey for a light bulb. I seemed to recall $17

ouch. I found the bulb one time at lowes for about $7. I bought 2 of them. I should have bought all of them cause now I can't find them at lowes anymore. They have the location for it still but they never stock up. It is quite annoying.

Quick questions for you guys, I have a Sinclair:

Do any of you have a heating/a/c vent in the kitchen? (we don't and I find that odd)

Do your heating units contstantly run and reset every 5 - 10 minutes? (Mine do, and I was told it's because the thermostat is in our bedroom, above the garage, and that they found no problems.)

    Thanks in advance!

I'm not at home at the moment to be sure, but almost positive there is a vent in front of the french doors in the breakfast nook. Not technically "in" the kitchen, but pretty darn close.

Our units don't run that frequently...but we do have programmable thermostats, not sure if that makes a difference.

Thanks Merlin. We put the sunroom on, I think that through a loop in the plans and they weren't sure what to do. I've got them coming by to check, it's noticeably cold in there.

VM never ceases to amaze me! They offer the sunroom as an option. Don't you think that maybe there is an actual plan that shows HOW it is supposed to be built--including vents, etc? [xx(]

Lol, you would think that, but their contractors don't seem to check plans. We made modifications in the basement, and they had to be redone because no one looked at the plans. There are still issues with the electrical placements as well...I could swear my elevation is wrong too...And the heat turning on every five minutes is driving me nuts!

You can also find the bulbs at Domion Electric Supply, Rt. 50 East, heading towards Chantilly, right-hand side...
