    Slingbox and Samsung TV

I'm trying to find out if I can get a slingbox in my home and then watch TV from another TV at someone else's home? I have a Samsung TV in the other home and trying to determine if I can do away with cable at the other home and simply watch from my slingbox. I know I can watch slingbox via an ipad or laptop and could hook that up to my TV but I was hoping for a more elegant solution.

    Anybody have experience with this?

Get an Apple TV for the second tv. Watch sling box through the apple device and stream it to the Apple TV.

Another option is the SlingBox Solo - it let's you connect and watch TV via a remote SlingBox natively.

When I used to travel extensively, I would take my Solo with me and install it in my hotel room, which enabled me to watch TV as if I was sitting on my couch at home.

One thing to remember is that the SlingBox solution is essentially an 'extension' of your TV at home. That being said, if the remote person changes the channel, the local user is stuck watching the same thing, and vice-versa. Think of it as having a TV connected to your cable box with a VERY long video cable - both sides always watch the same thing.

One way to solve this is to pick up another set box. We installed a DVR box in the basement, which is attached to the Sling Box. It's not hooked up to any TV, just the Slingbox. So we can set it to record, watch, anything from any device anywhere.

I dont think atv receives slings and the solo is just a sender no?

They used to sell a sling catcher for what you're trying to do but no more. I think google tv boxes have the sling catcher software in them.

Just a note to follow up: we are using Apple TV at the vacation home and it works OK. There are a lot of pauses when played through the Apple TV from my iPad. When I play it only on my iPad or MacBook, it's very good.
