Sufficiently rested now, so I'll go over this one more time. The section of the documents regarding this have already been posted. Please note that the language provides NO leniency or ways to screen cans. It says they MUST be out of site from ANY lot or Common Area.
The HOA has tried to be accomodating by providing some ways to screen cans, such as an enclosure. Quite frankly, if someone challenged us on this, we'd probably lose. The documents don't allow for enclosures or other ways to "hide" cans. They must be out of sight. Period.
If you can't figure out a way to keep a can in your garage, or pack your trash so it doesn't stink so much, that's your problem to work out and not the HOA's. We have trash pick up twice a week. Figure something out.
There is no one on this HOA Board that has any interest in allowing for leniency on this issue. It would take a 3/4 affirmative vote of all residents to get the documents changed even if we wanted to. That's not going to happen.

How's about wonna them'er tarps and coupla breeks. Oughta keep'er outa sight.

Sounds like the sky is the limit as long as the can is out of sight. People are already complaining about the trash can enclosures, latice style, and fences as a result of the out of sight rule.

vacliff, what if a neighbor stores their trash bin on their deck, like so many do, and it's visible from a common area and my kitchen! Any recourse there?
