    I heard about it, but it was too late and they were sold out. That being said, I dunno about spending $99/$149 on a piece of hardware that has just been announced as being discontinued and no longer supported by HP since they are selling off that division...

    I'm a geek and love gadgets, but I'm going to stay away from this one and save my money for the upcoming Amazon tablet being released in October.

    I tried about 6 local places this afternoon but none of the stores had them in stock.

    I was able place an order with Staples early this morning and price matched with Walmart. Also, bought one last night from HP and was told I would get the price difference in the next 3-4 days.

    There is a speculation that Touchpad could be altered to install Android sometime soon. That will make this product even hotter.

    If you have patience, you could still try in HP Small business website.... You would need to keep trying when it errors out while checking out as the site is being hammered.

    The store apparently changed its tune around 4pm Eastern. In its FAQ, Best Buy said that sales of TouchPads at the discounted price are final;

    I gave in and got an order in directly from HP about 30 minutes ago. Here's hoping it doesn't get cancelled :)

    What can I say - I love my gadgets...

    I'm sure that someone will come out with a root kit that will allow another OS to be loaded on. Since they no longer support it, you would not be violating any terms of service.

    I also got an order in at HP for both a 16 and a 32g. Got an order confirmation - but I am extremely skeptical, even with a confirmation. I went back online to check my order status and No Results were found....

    I placed an order on Amazon with free Prime Shipping about 45 minutes ago for a 16gb & 32gb model. If the order I made on the HP site actually goes through, I'll probably sell it at my cost to a coworker or here. I'll give the 16gb to my daughter and keep the 32gb :)

    Update: Just received my shipping confirmation from Amazon!

    I wasn't finding the discounted price on Amazon but I read that they will credit you the price difference if you contact them.

    Also try HP small business. The 16g is sold old, but the 32g was still available. You need to try A LOT to get through to check-out, but it did work eventually.

    also, you need to watch websites like amazon, bestbuy, HP, walmart etc frequently. They may open up anytime with new stock and will be sold out in no time.

    Too bad ebayers bought boat load of these already and are available already in ebay with a $50-$100 profit....

    I tried to big $250 on a few of the 32 GB models and was outbid on both, they sold for around $300. I want to get one and hopefully install Windows 8 on it down the road.
