Looks complete with a slide and someone said a diving board. Does anyone know if it's open now or when it's going to open?

I think I want to quit my current job and be a lifeguard again... Best job I ever had in my life!

The pool is not open yet.
They are shooting for this Saturday, June 14th, but it's not guaranteed.
The pool hours will be 11-8 every day and there will be a diving board and a slide.

Thanks, I hope to be one of the first before the kids pee in the water. I NEED to test out that slide. Hopefully there isn't a weight restriction! And of course the diving board which I'm surprise due to the insurance coverage on it.

First time I'll be using the pool since I moved here - Sumer 2000.

From what I've been told the pool on Demott is very tot oriented. Not sure if the other 2 pools even have kiddie pools.

I walked by the Southern Walk pool the other night... it looks like there is a kiddie pool to the side, near the soda machines.

    Teak-
You are correct about the insurance issue. The developer had no plans to put in a deep end, slide, or diving board due to the insurance costs. We (the resident members of the HOA Board) insisted that these amenities be included and we (the HOA) would pay the increased insurance cost. As you can guess, the community has shown overwhelming support for these items.

Cliff, I want to thank you and the HOA board for making that decision. I'm sure the kids will love these things. For some reason I have a bad feeling that Southern Walk pool is going to be crowded.

    Cannonball time!

Southern Walk Pool will open tomorrow. Of course, it might be closed some of the time for the weather (thunderstorms predicted).

On the question of tot pools - there are wading pools at all three Broadlands swimming pools. I'm not familiar with Southern Walk's wading pool but the other two are small and separated from the larger pool area with a gated fence.

Summerbrooke Pool itself is mostly shallow for younger children but does have a small swimming lane area for older children. I took my 15 year old nephew there last year and he was by far the oldest swimmer that day. He wouldn't get in to the pool at all (very politely declined).

The Community Pool has steps to get in - that's where all the little kids hang out when they're not in the wading pool. My 5 year old can't go further than 4 feet out without getting in too deep.

Aside from the big pool deck where the sun reflected so brightly that I couldn't see anything, I can't tell you too much about Southern Walk Pool.
