Because its "Special" it is safe to assume that it will have to with the Easement purchase, outside telecommunication provider (Verizon, Comcast) community access and bulk billing agreements.... or a combination of all 3. If you want to know anything about what's next... you should go. (just my opinion)

I agree with Zeratul - and also worth attending given the transparent approach from board members during last 3 meetings.

Perhaps the board is preparing special assessment(s) refund checks for all the owners that were forced to pay legal fees.

How was the special meeting? Are the OB refund checks being sent next week?

Any update on what was discussed at this meeting? I wanted to attend by had a sick kid at home. Would be interested if any discussions went on about Open Band and if other providers are being asked to provide service in our area (or at least do viability analysis).

Same here. I found about this just today. Would appreciate if anyone in the forum here can provide an indication of what was discussed. The last meeting I was in, I know the easement buyout and long term contract with some other provider were potentially on the table

I would say the meeting was more of a general update rather than anything special. We only had around 8-10 attendees. No decisions on providers but Verizon is still active in their interests. The HOA is still on track to purchase the Exclusivity Easement (no changes there) and the HOA is also still trying to work with Comcast and the county on access. Nothing will happen until the easement is purchased (my opinion).

If the HOA goes the direction of a bulk contract, the understanding is that this would work if the community was able to secure a substantial "deal". This would include homeowner discounted rates and guarantees for services and prices for around 3 years.

The SWHOA also confirmed that they are working with the BHOA (a good thing) concerning the easements. This is important because physical access needs will likely need common area easements. Wires and digging will require the use of BHOA easements as well (assumption). So engineering drawings and plans will be needed at some point to confirm easement access.
