Definitely like the atmosphere of the new one over the old. Better laid out, bigger, easier traffic access...

Small world. Our family hails from New Brunswick. I was born in Caribou. My dad in Presque Isle. Picked potatoes at the Bubar and Flannery farms back when.....25cents a barrel then. Now I've given my age away:screwy:

ha! Oh yeah they did the potato picking thing. I have to find out this year when I go visit if they still get time off school to help with the harvest. Oh and the lobster rolls & putine (can't remember how to spell it) are on my menu every day

Wow, it is a small world. I was born in Presque Isle, my mom is from Caribou. I only went to high school in Maine (Limestone High, Class of 81), but did pick potatoes for the Flannery's (around '77 - '81). 25 cents a barrel - that must have been well before my time - I think we were getting around 50 cents a barrell in the late 70's! When were you there?

    Not a good one.

I keep hearing on the news that Starbucks is starting to sell a small cup of coffee for $1. They are trying it right now on the west coast, perhaps heading this way.

My Dad was stationed at Loring AFB ('70-74). I went to Limestone HS. I think the last year I picked potatoes we were paid .50/barrel. We would start school in August and take off in September for the harvest. Sorry all, this isn't about picking coffee beans. One last note: I can remember a blizzard so bad that we had to stay overnight in school - not bad when one considers an olympic size swimming pool, large auditorium, 2-level library with earphones at each station. We had a blast! We didn't make it out of there until the following afternoon. Honestly, I think the parents were thrilled!!!
