The Steakhouse has gone to crap. I used to eat there all the time. The new waffle fries are gross, the old 8oz grilled salmon is gone and replaced with a burnt to a crisp nasty 11 salmon for twice the price. The kids meals are not fully cooked, and the soups now must come from a can. The smell of that place makes me sick! It is too bad, becuase the old menu and food was a step above the local competition. Now, I'd rather eat ecoli from Taco Bell!

I just don't know why they would mess with success. We used to eat there twice a week - not now.

Of course 5-6 empty tables when your restaurant seats 500 is a bit different than if it seats 100!!

I think it's really offensive, especially when a concerned neighbor already called and complained to the manager. I have really loved the Steakhouse until this change and ate there probably at least once or twice per week. No more. I guess I'm just saddened and disappointed in the speed of the demise. Hopefully we'll get something great in its place!

Spoken in the same tone as President Ronald Reagan at the Brandenburg Gate on June 12, 1987:

"Mr. Steakhouse Manager, tear down this sign!"

I dont know what is sadder, the decline of the Steakhouse or that you felt you had to take pictures of their advertising.

COME ON PEOPLE! They are trying to advertise that they are now open for lunch. Sure they sign looks tacky but to boycott for this reason?

Let the appropriate people know about the sign and then move on, no need to get your knickers in a bunch!

You don't live next to it. And now they are open to 2AM, yay! I saw a bunch of empty beer bottles on the way to Starbucks this morning. It's a slippery slope issue.

Can't blame the Steakhouse for the bottles as they do not serve beer in them. Now if you think the "slope" is the "class of patron" that is a different story. I truly worry more about the people speeding in the mall than the occassional litterbug.

Broadlands has a nice range of establishments from fairly upscale to a tad more rowdy. Each offers something unique and IMO, valuable to the community. I love to go with some guys to the Steakhouse every once in a while and drink beer and watch sports. I also enjoy going to Clydes with my family for a more sedated evening.

I can live with these minor transgressions (and no, I do not live next to the mall) as they will occur regardless of what community the mall may be in. If I see bottles in the lot I will pick them up and throw em out, as I remember back to the days of my youth. ;)

First, I took a picture because someone on the forum requested it. Maybe you should have read the entire thread first. If you cant tell by the quality of the image, it was taken with my telepone while passing by. It is not like I set out to photograph the great event.

Second, the Steakhouse can advertise. They can put fliers in my door, send the people on bikes wearing suits asking me to convert to steakhousism and spread the good word, put up cardboard posters on every median, place business cards in my newspaper box under my mailbox, and even tow a 2 ton construction sign behind a pimped out suv that looks like the one Tu-Pac got shot in. But hey, it could happen anywhere..right T8'er.

Third, good for you that you enjoy a beer while watching the game. At least now you know that you can hang out with the "guys" until 2am. Bottom line is that there are more appropriate ways of letting the community know that they are open all night. For one, there is a monthly newsletter. Second, there are mailings such as the "clipper magazine."

Maybe we will get lucky in 2007 and get some used car lot rotating sky lights (you know, the bat signal), or a pawn shop, or maybe a skeet shooting range. Wow T8'er, I do hope you have a happy holiday and enjoy your Steakhouse (oh, by the way, they are now open until 2AM...YES!)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure they've always been open until 2am. The change is that they are now open everyday at 11am for lunch.

I would much rather drive by a towering neon sign than having my house and community blanketed with advertising leaflets. (2 AM huh?)

And I have read all the posts, Woopity asked if someone HAD taken a pic, I did not read where he/she specifically asked you. But hey, how about a pic of your significant other? Please! I asked nicely (didn't think so).

My POINT is that too many people get spun up over the trivialest of things.

And just why is a sign like that inappropriate? Because you don't like it???More people will see it driving by at rush hour than the newsletter or other items that get thrown away without anyone reading them. I would rather see that sign which is obviously temporary than the numerous trash bins sitting outside of homes and unkempt yards.

And thank you, I am having a lovely holiday season, especially with all these advertising lights that just blend in with most of the other homes in our community.

And since you seem to have been a regular maybe you should give them another chance, say around 2 AM

You really want a picture of my significant other? I don't think he would mind, but you might get grossed out! Hey, maybe that is the real reason you go drinking with the guys???

    Wait, Let me ask........

I just asked him and he said he preferrs that I not distribute his picture to you. So, I guess you were right after all. Sorry, no pic of the hubby for you.

Hetero or alternate-lifestylist, I am not prejudicial who I drink a beer with!

From your attempt at humor, sounds like you would be!
