For me, it is the BIG bus that takes up 4 spots in a somewhat prime location. There is spot in the far right hand corner where the bus would only take 2 spots.

Technically, the HOA has nothing to do with the commercial properties. In the case of the Saul Center, complaints can be filed with Saul (Julie Miller is the point of contact) or the Broadlands Commercial Property Association. The BCPA is managed by Van Metre and the point of contact is Denise Harrover.
That being said, I have developed a good working relationship with both and am not bashful about voicing resident concerns. If you want the HOA alerted to an issue on commercial property I would prefer you contact me directly and not bother the HOA staff.

"somewhat" prime as in on most weekends now, the only availble spots on that side are the ones closest to the bank.

Yea, that's because the steakhouse manager finally got a clue that his 'marketing plan' was actually losing them customers...

Either way, they lost of family's business for at least the next 90 days. Their actions and the way they responded (or lack thereof!) to our community's concerns put them on my "timeout" list.

Businesses in our community should not get away with actions such as these, especially when many of us voiced our strong opinions directly with the management and they flat out ignored us/didn't care.

The way it sounds from afar, this was but one more nail in the coffin containing the Steakhouse.

    1. Change in menu (prices and food choices)
    2. Change in management
    3. Sign.

    Three strikes .. you're out ??

Since this is the unofficial Original Steak House thread I felt in appropriate to post this information here. Just wanted to inform the community of an event being held at the Steakhouse this Saturday evening.

The local radio show "Sports Junkies" is having a "Wildcard Viewing Party" at the Steakhouse from 8-10pm. This radio show is extremely popular in the DC metro region and one of the "Junkies" is in fact a Broadlands resident. I happen to enjoy the Sports Junkies and have listened for several years and that's how I heard of this event in our back yard.

At Saturday's event the "Junkettes" will be on hand to pass out prizes. For those of you who don't know, the Junkettes are very attractive, scantly clad, young women who often attend the Junkies appearances. As I said before, while I am a huge fan of the Sports Junkies radio show I wouldn't bring my child to this event nor would I want to be eating dinner with my family while these women are "working the crowd" within the bar. If you're looking to have a quite dinner Saturday evening with a family atmosphere, the Steakhouse won't be the place for the children of our community. It's been discussed before in this thread, the days of great food, good service, and a family atmosphere are few and far between at the Steakhouse as this owner seems to be targeting a different crowd.

This is the advertisement on the Junkies website:

JUNKETTES AT ORIGINAL STEAK HOUSE IN ASHBURN
Join our hottie Junkettes at the Original Steak House in Ashburn, Virginia from 8-10 pm on Saturday night as they host a "Wildcard Viewing Party." They'll be doling out prizes including DVD's and a pair of tickets to see "The Who" at the Verizon Center in March. The Original Steak House is located at 43150 Broadlands Center Plaza. Call them at (571)223-0100 for more info.

We went to OSH last Saturday for the Redskins game/VA Tech game/UFC Pay-per-view . I've never seen that place so packed. We were squished - standing room only in the bar area. Business wasn't hurting for them that day! :tgif:

It probably will for the younger crowd.

Personally, I think WAY too much fuss has been made about how the OSH has conducted THEIR business. It is fairly obvious that new management has changed its' operation to attract a younger crowd. Don't be surprised if someday soon the main dining area becomes a dance floor as there is a serious lack of establishments that attract young adults in Loudoun.

As for the sign, sure it was tacky (but it WAS located in a strip mall), but when I drive through some streets in Broadlands I see quite a bit of "crap" that I would like to see go away too.

Personally I like that, do you know that the night life in this area for a successful 20's something person really sucks...why should I be forced to live in the city just to go out and have fun with people my own age. Granted, most of the people in this area see the younger crowed I think as hellions or something.

There was an article in the Loudoun paper a year ago about where thew local hot spots are for the young singles in Loudoun. The two places that were spotlighted were Kirkpatrick's and the Steakhouse.

I agree there's not much around here for the successful 20's crowd and going into DC for a few drinks is nice occasionally but it would be great to have some better alternatives in our area. While I'm not criticizing OSH for targeting the younger crowd, I did want to advise the families with young kids against dining at OSH Saturday night due to the under dressed Junkettes that will be in attendance.

With that said, I'll be there. Just for the games of course...
