Are the powers that be here interested in participating in Tapatalk for the forum?

Tapatalk is a mobile solution for online communities, empowering discussion forums with mobile access since 2009. Tapatalk works for iPhone, Android, webOS, Windows Phone 7 and BlackBerry. Are you a community owner? Try it now to see why so many forums adopted it to complement or replace their existing HTML-based mobile skin.

Was going to ask a similar question and found this post - so bump.

I have recently started using this application for other hobby forums and it does enhance the forum experience quite a bit (new iphone here).

Mr. Linux & Co.? Has anyone looked into the plugin for this forum instance? Looks like a fairly pass-thru layer app.

I need to review the security of this application/plugin before we start piping some of our users' traffic through it. I need to verify what their privacy policy is, etc. Also, this plugin is owned and run by a development house based out of Shanghai, China. All this makes me very nervous and I 'personally' would not want my activities on these forums, including my login credentials processed through such a company overseas. Additionally, this could also possibly give this company access to internals of our forums, since the plugin hooks directly into the forum software.

That being said, if it works for you and you're satisfied that your privacy and security are being preserved on the other forums you visit, then more power to you. The paranoid cyber-security guy in me is very hesitant to installing something like this.

One avenue we've looked at in the past was a 'theme/skin' for the forums that is optimized for mobile devices. We've been testing such a beast on and off over the last year, but it has fallen on the priority list over time. Maybe it's time for us to revisit such an option...

    Thanks for looking into it....

Understood about the security concerns and agree that it needs to be reviewed and verified prior to installation.

I think a mobile version of this site would be just as good, really. I eventually downloaded Tapatalk for my phone and have used it sometimes for some Android forums but it's just okay in my opinion. I'd be happy to beta test a mobile version if you need someone.
