we are already fans of Vintage 50 so we weren't surprised that the food and service were outstanding tonight at the V! (cursed plaza on Waxpool, next to Embassy Suites.)

we started with Ahi Tuna Nachos- the tuna was buttery soft served atop crisp, flaky, fresh, flour tortilla chips. delicious wasabi cream and thai chili sauces complement this dish perfectly, excellent portion for two to share.

then we tried the pork pops- good GOD. the meat fell off of the bone and into their golden mustard bbq sauce- they are a meal into themselves. tender, slow cooked pork that you only WISH you could make at home- fantastic.

we ended with the 50/50 sliders- beef and smoky bacon blended to create this juicy sliders with melty cheese and carmelized onions... all on a soft warm rolll... sigh.

add to that a wonderful menu of craft beers, even local Lost Rhino- and a great atmosphere- I can see hanging out here for SURE.

this could have the Fords Fish Shack effect on that plaza- it is on par with them and Parallel among Ashburn's best eats.

Stopped by last night . . . nice craft beer selection (though they could stand to replace one of the IPAs with a different style, like a brown or a belgian-style dubble) and the bartender told me they would start brewing their own in a few months and would bring some in from V-50. She also said that a stop light will be installed at the entrance to the hotel in a few months.

My husband & I went for lunch today...I had the Cajun Mahi Sandwich, he had the turkey burger & ceasar. Both were really fresh & very good. Not many people there though for 12 o'clock--uh-oh. Nice atmosphere, really clean, good music, perfect volume just backgound music, not blaring loud (my biggest pet peeve at restaurants). We'll go back!

We went the other day and it was good. Menu is very close to what Vintage 51 was. The beer selection was a little small for a place that is trying to be a "beer joint". The manager said it was because they only had room for 4 taps. But even the bottle selection was lacking. I hope they figure out a way to put more taps on because no one is going to go out of their way for beers they can get anywhere.

It will be different once they start brewing there or if they can bring in beers from Vintage 50, but I'm not holding my breath.

Funny...Lost Rhino actually brews some of their beers for them sonce the other location has such a small space.

We went there last week for lunch. Good food and our daughter ate for free (kids free on Wednesdays). The general manager told us that they were bringing in two barrels from leesburg for the back bar ("The Beer Joint"). They need not apply for a new brewers license because they can use the one from the other restaurant. Should have some good new beers available soon.

I didnt think they were doing that anymore. I heard through the grapevine that LR wanted to concentrate on it's core brands and with Kristi brewing at V50 and the loss of Vintage 51 it wasnt necessary to brew off premises anymore. It wasn't always about space it was about liscening to sell beer brewed on one premise at a different location, as much as it was about output. I also think the only one the brewed at LR was 50 cat and Kristi just brewed a batch of that at V50 on November 2nd.

Either way it will be nice when they start brewing on their own, but they will need to work on a way to expand the number of draft lines they have. They have 4 in the main bar and 6 in the detached bar, but the manage said they would have to find a work-around since it will be a pain for them to use the 6 detached taps for the restaurant portion.

Other places like Fireworks, MacDowells and Fords can manage to have decent draft selection with MUCH less space, not sure why this place can't unless they just don't want to put the money into making sure they can have more tap lines.

Either way, we'll be back. It was good and hopefully will get better.

Yeah, he told us they would be brewing "one of these days, probably after the holidays, but in reality we don't know." 2 barrels is a good size for that place (around 60 gallons per batch), but with limited tap space they are just setting themselves up for failure. A place like that should have 4 to 6 flagship beers that it always has on tap plus 2 or 3 seasonal selections. I'm not sure in their current setup that they will be able to work with the space they have and they show no signs of wanting to put major money in it to expand.

Went to the V for the first time last night and had a great experience. Service was great as was the food and the interior is really nicely setup. Will definitely go back.

Been there twice, consistently outstanding. Will be packed soon, like Fords. Not surprising, since they are easily the two best restaurants in the Ashburn area.

Been there twice. Both times food was very good. One time service was ok, and the other time it was outstanding.

I agree, that between this and Fords we've got a couple of gems.

I must have hit it on an off day. We went for lunch a while back and I was not impressed. The calamari had zero flavor, the steak sandwich had a lot of gristle (to the point of discreetly having to put it in my napkin), and the french fries were stuck together in a greasy clump and also lacked flavor. Maybe they run a better dinner than lunch?

The mark of any good restaurant is consistency. In our experience, the only local ones that have gotten good marks on that is: Fords, Bonefish and now V. Maybe their dinner chef is better. But that's fair enuff - and we don't give too many places second chances.

I went there and can tell you that the food was a 7 on a scale of 1-10 (I am a tough grader) but the service was a 4. I will continue to go there for 7 food and to support small entrepreneurs.

Went there twice and was satisfied, not wowed. Felt that the draft beers should have been colder, the spinach and artichoke dip appetizer was runny, and the sweet potato fries side weren't crisp at all, they actually flopped and broke as I was trying to eat them. No salt or other seasoning either...odd. The main part of my meals was good (BBQ pork sandwich, twisted turkey blt), but they weren't unique hard-to-make meals either. I know my husband liked the fish dishes he got both twices, so maybe it's hit and miss...

We gave it a try last week and enjoyed it. The savannah shrimp was great. The shrimp were cooked perfectly. We tried their cod and pork and liked it all. We thought the sweet potato fries were some of the best we've had. They smelled and tasted more like sweet potatoes and weren't over fried. The atmosphere was nice and the service was excellent. We will go back.

I guess it all depends on which server you get. I was there the night before Valentine's Day, and my server was so bad, it was comical. I seriously thought I was being punk'd. We ordered a bottle of wine, and she brought 2 glasses of wine. She took my date's order, but forgot to take mine. When she started to walk away, I said 'Would you like my order?' So I ordered a steak, and when she didn't ask how I would like it prepared, I prompted her for that as well. We eventually had to ask for water. And there were plenty more gaffes.

Food was fine, but I'm in no rush to go back. That was my second visit, and the first was only marginally better.
