The wife and I LOVE Travinia. But people are absolutely right... if they don't fix the service issues.... they will go out of business.

Visited last night and had very low expectations based on reviews. Was VERY pleasantly surprised. Agree that the service is a little rusty, but the atmosphere is wonderful and the food was divine.

    -1 on the service.

I've been twice now. The first time on a special lunch with my jellyman and that experience was top notch.

Based on that my wife and I decided to duck out and grab some dinner with our littlest one this evening around 5:30 or so.

After a 30 minute wait for seating, we were given two menus (no childrens menu). After inquiring about the kids selections and given a verbal run-down, I asked her to confirm egg ingredients due to an allergy for our little one.

She came back and stated that everything on the kids menu contained egg. I questioned a couple of the items (plain pasta and pizza), but she restated her initial report. She mentioned that the kitchen could cook a chicken breast and pair that with a fruit cup.

After cancelling our order, we asked to speak with a manager to once again reaffirm that what we were hearing is correct and to provide feedback if it was. My wife, obviously frustrated at a completely blown evening, was expressing her concerns and he got highly defensive. What should have been an 'I'm sorry we couldn't be of service and we'll take your concerns into consideration' or offering a creative twist on steak strips and fries turned into a rebuttal that we were wrong in the fact that our 4 y.o. has been able to eat pizza and/or pasta at practically every restaurant we have ever taken him to. He stated that, in his experience, that virtually all pasta and pizza dough has egg in it to help it rise (at which time I did engage in the back and forth before shutting down the converstation altogether).

Lol, i make pizza dough on a regular basis and have burned through hundreds of variations - flour, yeast, sugar, salt, oil, and water... maybe some spices. Not once have I folded an egg in. Not saying that it doesn't exist, just that it's not a 'normal' addition.

He was talking in the first person in discussing 'his' menu being already heavily allergen free and that he was already stretched. Not sure if we got the owner or just the kitchen manager but regardless, they wont be seeing our business for a long while,

Lesson learned. I really need to call and confirm kid options and allergens in advance. I obviously became to complacent with the 99% of the restaraunts getting it wrong so far.

If anyone here owns a restauraunt and has features a known allergen in 100% of your menu, do us a little favor and advertise it soemwhere to avoid the disappointment and, more importantly, an accidental exposure.

Finally got around to checking out this restaurant, by strange circumstance twice in the same week.

We were quite happy - good food, good service, reasonable prices for a restaurant of this type. They seem to be doing well. We went on a Monday and a Wednesday and both times they were very crowded, in fact we had to wait for a table the latter time. Not really a kid-friendly type of place, but a lively crowd. Only (minor) complaint - Our table was close to the live music which was a bit loud which made it harder to hear each other.
