    Hey there,
I went to Treviso's yesterday at 7pm and it was closed. There was a handwritten note on the door thanking their customers. Their phone number and website still work. I wonder what happened? I've eaten there before and enjoyed their food, although I admit that Mediterranean Breeze was my favorite local Italian restaurant and seemed like a better value too ...

I read in the Washington Post about how Catanuso's closed several months ago. When I walked by it the other day, it looked like it had JUST closed ... posters and menus still posted in the window, etc. Kind of eerie ... just like the San Francisco Oven site for months after it closed.

On another note, Swagath Vegetarian Restaurant recently opened in the old Aasha's location by Shopper's Food Warehouse. We just ate there and thought the food was okay. Not bad, not great, just okay. Same with the service. I'll try it again sometime, but I think that Banjara will still be my favorite!

I recently got coupons in the mail for Manginos (sp?). I haven't tried it yet, has anyone?

I've had pizza from Mangino's about 3 times now and ordered there for lunch one day. They have some very unique pizzas and we've usually ordered the daily pizza special. On a scale of 1 to 10, I'd give it a 7. Husband likes it more than I, because the crust isn't too thick and chewy. He likes cracker crust and it's somewhere in between. We had the Salsicia last night - white garlic sauce, sausage, caramelized onions, roasted red peppers, capers, mozz, ricotta, parm and herbs. So far, that's been my favorite. Have also had the DaVinci and Bianco. All white pizzas. Well, OK, I've also had a pepperoni and an onion, mushroom and green pepper. I guess we've ordered it a lot! They use Boar's Head meats on their subs and the people who ordered those liked them. I had their Chicken Gyro, which was not as good as Countryside Cafe's Chicken Souvlaki - which, by the way, is reopening tomorrow as another different Mediterranean restaurant. Can't remember the name, but there's also one in Springfield. I thought George at C'Side Cafe had the best chicken souvlaki, bar none. I'm hoping that he just consolidated his restaurant with this new one.

I had heard George from C'Side Cafe sold the business.

is it a Village Chicken? I used to go there years ago when there was one in fairfax... they had tasty gyros.... now I only have knossos in vienna since the leesburg one closed. The gyros here at mezza grill are ok, but diff sauce/taste, so I'm not used to em.

I still can't remember the name, but it wasn't Village Chicken - more of a Mediterranean-sounding name. There was an ad in the Easterner right before Mother's Day. I'm sad to hear that George sold C'Side Cafe, but with any luck, the new place will continue his tradition of great chicken souvlaki!
