The kids in Broadlands have gone trick or treating on Halloween night for the past 12 years. So...Saturday, October 31st.

We went last night. My kids are really bummed that they didn't get much candy.

I've never experienced a Saturday Halloween before in this area. Will the kids T-o-T all day or still in those what seem to be designated hours of 6pm-8pm?

Of course at night. Trick or treating is no fun during the day. Besides, people have all kinds of sports activities that keep them busy during the day.

Although I have noticed that on a weekend, some trick or treaters do come later than usual.

The kids usually wait until it starts to get dark although we have had little ones start as early as 5:00pm.

I'm sorry, but does this forum really represent a cross section of our community? No, Obama did not move Halloween. It is on the same date that it has been for the last 2000 years. Yes, Independence Day will still be on the 4th of July next year, and Christmas will still be on December 25th. Now just so that you don't get too confused, we will send you a reminder for Thanksgiving, Easter, etc. because they may move around a little. Don't worry, you will usually get plenty of advance notice of any changes. I know, I know, it is all so confusing with the lunar calendar and the solar calendar. Trust me, Halloween will still be on the 31st next year too ;-)

WHewww, for a minute I was feeling really bad that I may not seen a notice about this happening on a different day in our hood. Thanks for the scare!

We used to live in Ohio, and Trick or Treating was always on a designated night other than halloween, with set hours. This was supposedly for safety reasons.

A lot of towns in New England do it on a different day too. Never quite understood that.
