I understand that mail can get pretty crazy during this time of the year, but I don't think that's an excuse for mail being misdelivered several times a week. Has this been an issue in the past?

I have been lucky enough on a couple of occasions where my neighbors would come knock on our door to hand deliver any mail that accidentally arrived in their box. This issue is not just concerning letters, but packages too.

This has been very frustrating because I was suppose to receive 3 packages the last 2 weeks... the tracking says "delivered", but they are not in my box. I am eliminating the possibility of them being stolen because I literally HEAR the mail truck come by every day and go grab my mail a couple of minutes later.
I don't want to have to disturb all my neighbors to ask if they got my packages.

I guess I'm sending the message out there to all Broadlands residents:
If you get mail that's not your delivered to your house, please take a few minutes to take it to the correct address.
Some packages are time sensitive (like medication, etc), and cannot wait for USPS to re-deliver if you write on the mail and put it back in your box.

    Thanks everyone.

You can sign up for realmailnotification from the USPS and they will send you a daily image of all of the mail which should be delivered to your house.

The images are coming from the scanning system used by USPS for security purposes so you are just getting the images they take anyway.

I'll have to check into that service. We've had issues since we moved here in 03 but its gotten worse recently. We've lost bills, packages and all kinds of stuff. It's getting ridiculous.

I agree it has gotten worse. Just today one of my packages was delivered to my next door neighbor. Expecting another package that was shipped to me on 11/24 and the tracking says it arrived & was scanned at the post office on 11/27...still waiting....hasn't gone out for delivery apparently.

A USPS truck was on our street delivering packages at 615am today. I think they hire temps/contractors to help with holiday deliveries which could explain it - that and the increase in volume of parcels.

The USPS people apparently are oblivious to weather too because we had a box delivered earlier this week that by the time I got home from work was so wet it was falling apart. Thank goodness the contents were covered in plastic or they'd have been ruined!

the USPS makes it difficult to complain about this as well.. you basically have to mail the postmaster... you can't email them, call them, etc.

Just start sending in the complaints...

I know this is a hassle as a solution, but I got a PO Box which solved my problem. I found too much stuff just went missing, letters stuffed in magazines I wouldn't find until months later. Just got to be too much. The Post Office is open 24x7, packages are put in the lockers so you can access anytime, etc. I just stop by on the way to work in the morning. I have only received one "mis-delivered" piece of mail in the last year, as compared to 1-2 a week at home.

All of the carriers around here fail to cover packages in the rain. Pretty stupid really.

Last month I got 2 bills for Loudoun water for addresses near Hillside (I live in Southern Walk). I put them back into my mailbox with the red flag up thinking that the mailman would pick them up. He didn't. So next time I left a sticky note on the bills saying they were delivered to the wrong house. Still didn't take them. I finally drove to the post office and dropped them off into the mail bin.

We've been having similar issues with UPS. After chasing one of the guys down last week he apologized and said both he and his partner were new this week (unsure what impact that has on reading a house number).

I've had this problem for months, and it's recently gotten worse. Today a package showed up on my steps that was completely beat up and ripped open as well.

We found a piece of our first class mail in the street on Halloween. I called and spoke with someone at the Dulles General Mail Facility but never heard back from them. Have lost all confidence that mail will be delivered correctly.
