USPS Not Holding Mail?

The last two times we have left town and requested a hold on our postal mail, they still delivered it while we were gone. It was nice coming home to a box sitting on the front porch that had been drenched by the rain and then beaten by the heat We never had a problem holding the mail until this year.

Has anyone else had issues with this?

 

I had a vacation stop during the third week of June for 9 days, no issues.

 

Are you sure it wasn't held? It could have been held for a bit and then delivered too early. We use a hold every time we go on vacation and never had a problem.

It could be your carrier. Ours is great and we know her. Get to know your carrier if you can.

 

never a problem here. I've done it for up to 3 weeks. No issues. They deliver it all on the day I ask. I wish I could get off all the advertisements and newletters, would cut down on the sorting.

This happenned to me this month as well. We were supposed to have our mail held for a few days this month. We ended up not going out of town. The mail was delivered each day....

 

I've had random intermittent issues with this. USPS getting the dates wrong, not delivering the mail once we returned. A call to customer service usually puts things right and, yes, a good relationship with your particular mail deliverer - they can often make sure things are done right.

 

Sorry to hear. We had our mail held for 10 days in June with no issues and never had any problem with this service in the past, thankfully. One thing, are you sure the package wasn't delivered by UPS or FedEx?

 

Yes, it was a USPS priority mail box.

I'll contact customer service and see if they have anything to say. Problem with talking to our mail carrier is neither my wife or I are home when he delivers.
