Aside from what some consider a sub-par location (where Beef O'Brady's was by the ice rink) does anyone have any info on the new Village Grill? I wonder what sort of menu they have, is food/service good - you know, the usual details. I couldn't find a thread here that covered it yet.......You guys are my trusted go to sources for this sort of thing :)

i've been twice and enjoyed it both times. the coconut shrimp smelled great- i am allergic but The Man praised it and he is a harsher judge than ME.

i had the roast beef anf havarti sandwich- tender, thisnly sliced- good stuff. the crab dip is excellent escpecially if you like garlic. i like the atmosphere, and Doug, the owner is very nice. service was great bothe visits- it's a great place to head after little league games! free wii for the kids to play with is a nice touch as well.

My much better half and I ate there last Saturday evening. Nothing fancy in terms of decor, pretty much as it was, but the food is SO much better than the BO'B fare.

I hate it when crab cakes contain filler, and their's does NOT. They are of decent size and have a large clump of backfin meat embedded in the center, served over a mild cajun spiced sauce. I'll be going back for more of those.

We shared our dishes, and my wife had ordered the Cod fish & chips. Normally, I am not a big fan of these, but the cod was quite good. I really liked that the coating was thin and did not distract from the cod. They came with small cups of ketchup, tartar sauce and a very interesting apple balsmic vinegar. Those that like vinegar on their fries really ought to try that.

    No complaints about service.

We stopped by for lunch and it was yummy.

Yep, same exact uninspired BoB decor but if you want to catch the game or a score that might not be a bad thing. The service was nice and attentive. The iced tea was great and refilled as needed(I've had a string of weak, dishwater like tea at places lately so this warrants a mention).

I had the roast beef and havrati with pasta salad as my side - a very hearty portion and tasty too. Hubby had grilled tuna and thought it was good. Not only did he clean his plate but he finished off my pasta salad.

We will certainly return. Making an extra effort to spend our dollars with local businesses these days and this is a keeper.
