Need a good place to have dinner tomorrow night and I don't want to go outside of the Ashburn/Broadlands area. Recent threads seem to be talking more about places further away or restaurant closings so I wanted to get a fresh opinion of the good stuff nearby.

    Thanks!

OOOH! Date Night? With Kids? what's the party makeup? off the top of my head:

Fords Fish Shack- Great new addition to town
Mezza Grill- always great Turkish, Greek and Lebanese fare
Anothai- fantastic Thai food- basil chicken can't be beat
Foster's Grill- Brugers and fries- i think they are the best in town (5 Guys a close 2nd, Fuddruckers close behind THEM)

I took my mom to Parallel the other night and we had a great time! I highly recommend it; the service was awesome and the food was great. I wouldn't take my kids until they get a little older, though.

We like to take the kids to Bonefish (they love the mac & cheese), and my son's favorite pizza is American Flatbread. Clyde's is always good, and the All American Steakhouse is ok, also.

We have had several wonderful experiences with Bertucci's recently (across the street from Bloom). Excellent service, good food, and nice family atmosphere.

This is a "sans kids" dinner so something moderately nice (e.g., no styrofoam dinnerware) would be best. We haven't been to Anothai in a long time, but we haven't tried Blue Ridge Grill yet...hmmmmm

I love Blue Ridge and Parallel, too, but if you do end up going to Anothai - oh my, the Volcano Chicken is fabulous. Husband ordered it, with the intent of leftovers because it is a whole chicken, deep-fried, slathered with Thai sweet chili sauce and flamed at the table. The leftovers in my lunch were every bit as good as the first day. I could definitely use anothe hit of that right now!

Last week Restaurant.com had a 90% off sale, so I bought tons of coupons to try out all the local places.... We've been in a few places we never would have tried and found out we love them!

I had pineapple shrimp at Anothai and it was served in half a pineapple shell. That was fun. Service was helpful and good. I need to remember to go there more often. They don't offer crayons for kids but it was still pretty kid-friendly in the early evening. The waiter made a suggestion for what to order for the kid who wanted plain chicken with white rice. We got the chicken satay (technically an appetizer) and an order of rice. The chicken satay comes with a peanut sauce and was cooked in the sauce (I think) but the kid liked it. So don't be afraid to take the kids - the staff will try to accommodate requests for picky eaters.

Cafe Opera has chicken satay also for my picky eater.

We got in on the 90% off restaurant.com deal... I got one for Pines of Florence (haven't been..has anyone? It seems to have smoe good reviews on yelp) and Broadlands Pub (nice remodel, horrible food, overpriced drinks.. even for $25 off =)).... wish I got more $1 coupons, but they are still only $2.

Pines of Florence used to be Domani. Domani was average, and the one time I tried P of F (shortly after they re-opened), I thought they were still pretty average. But boy, they do have some great reviews on yelp, so I'm thinking I should go back and give them another shot. I'm sorry I missed that 90% off deal on restaurant.com!
