I am starting to believe the gas stations in Ashburn are all owned by the mafia or something. Why do all of them require a car wash purchase or you pay .20 more a gallon? Can't we get a wawa or sheetz someplace?

Does anyone know why this is the case in Ashburn?

What you describe is every gas station in northern Virginia, except for Sheetz and Wawa. I believe that the advertised price on the sign is the same as that on the pump, and there is a discount of .20 if you spend more money for a car wash.

Just the gas prices alone cover the Costo/Sam's Club membership price.

I completely agree. I rarely ever buy gas at any station in Ashburn, which is too bad, but I'm not willing to pay the .20 per gallon premium.

The "premium" is not gas station related... it is CASHBURN related. We are ALL rich so we must be able to afford the higher prices for EVERYTHING!

I found it to be the stretch east/west... When you went south the prices dropped quickly.

Then the prices jumped like .10c in two days last week...

I wonder about the new Wawa. Their prices jumped .25 in a week and are now more in line with surrounding stations when they had been .15-.20 below average.

When you do gas station search in certain areas, for example, Herndon, Reston, gas prices don't seem to change much regardless of their number. If you search Manassas you can see the price dropping.

It looks like it has something to do with the market and their property value/rent maybe.

Safeway gas station is now closed, but Van Metre is trying to put a gas station across the street - another facility to be built when there is one already vacant. More concrete, parking lot, gas pumps. Apparently Harris Teeter in Broadlands is also hoping to add a gas station - when there is one a mile away.

Not sure if having 4 gas station within Broadlands will make much of a change in the price. I have seen gas stations across from one another with 1-2 cents difference in price. Does that make you drive around to save a dollar?

Do you think there will be 20 cents difference in any of the gas stations within Broadlands/Ashburn Farm area?

Regardless of how many there are - I doubt that the difference will make us save enough money to justify one more gas station. I hope that Broadlands does not get surrounded with more gas stations closer to homes and schools.

Finally, here is something to think about too.
