Where are the voting polls going to be next week for our location?

I'm pretty sure that both Hillside and Eagle Ridge are polling places. It should say on your voter registration card. (I live in Broadlands North and I vote at Hillside).

 

Go to:

http://www.sbe.state.va.us/VotReg/Polling_Place/Polling_Place_Lookup_request.htm

and enter your address. It will tell you where your polling place is.

 

That is correct, both schools are precincts. The URL listed will show your location based on your address.

If you have a PIN for the Virginia DMV website, you can go to the State Board of Elections site, and look up your personal registration record.

Southern Walk residents go to Eagle Ridge MS.

 

One would assume so, however assumptions are not always valid. It is easier to verify prior to heading to the polls. Just click on the above referenced link, and enter your address.

I was just advising per what's on my voter registration card!

 

Thanks! I checked, we are to go to Eagle Ridge. We never got our cards so that is why I was asking.

FYI - my neighbor is volunteering at the polls at Eagle Ridge and advised the hours will be from 0600 hours - 1900 hours (6am - 7pm).

 

I understand, but I also know that there are some precincts (not sure if they're around here) where one side of the street goes here, and the other goes there.

I also am volunteering as an election official, and here's some advice. If you can, try to arrive during the middle of the day. The worst times are at the opening, and at closing.

FWIW ... if you are on line when the Chief Precinct Official announces that the polls are closed, you will be able to vote. Also note, that the clock that is used is the Chief Precinct Official watch or other designated timepiece. If his/hers says its 7:00 PM, and your's says 6:55 .. you lose !!

Denise, I hadn't received my card either so I called Loudoun County today. They didn't have me down as being registered to vote - although I registered my new address with them last March. You may want to call and confirm as well. I found it off the DMV site, as Neil noted this morning.

 

They did say something during my training, that if you registered via a change of address at the DMV, you should check to see if you're registered at the county board.

Neil- I'm already a registered voter in Loudoun county but I moved in July to a new home (still in Loudoun). Do you think I'll have trouble because my reg. card still has my old address? I'm hoping not!!

 

forgot to add to my post- I just moved within Broadlands and my polling place didn't change...

 

Where is Eagle Ridge? I know the address says Waxpool, but I'm not sure of the exact location. Thanks!

Directions to Eagle Ridge from within Broadlands:

Head toward Waxpool Road via Claiborne. Take Waxpool west toward the Sunoco, turn left onto Waxpool (don't ask), you'll pass the entrance to the private school on the corner, then the next left is the entrance into Eagle Ridge.

If you're coming from Chickacoan, and areas off Truro Parish, head east on Truro Parish and turn right on Waxpool across from the Sunoco.

Can anyone tell me what type of method they use to vote in Loudoun County? This will be my first time voting here.
