I live in SouthernWalk community in Broadlands. I was looking up on the voting districts and I am confused a little(on the house of delegates - district)

I am clear on the VA senate districts ( Broadlands - District 33)

I provided my address on https://www.voterinfo.sbe.virginia.gov/PublicSite/Public/PublicPollingPlace.aspx and here is what that site says about the districts -

    Congressional:
    10
    State Senate:
    033
    House of Delegates:
    013
    Election:
    DULLES DISTRICT

My daughter brought home a sample ballot from school and it lists District 32.

    Can someone explain this confusion?

We're near the very top of House of Delegates District 13 - but other portions of Broadlands may be in 32 ?? I can't remember, but we are very close to the line. So the info you have is correct, the Delegate for our District is is Bob Marshall (being challenged by Bruce Rommelt (sp?) ).

The state website you found is a good one. What school gave your daughter a sample ballot?

Southern Walk is in House District 13. Everyone who votes at Eagle Ridge is. Bruce Roemmelt is challenging Bob Marshall there. (Go Bruce!)

Broadlands North is in House District 32. That district includes people who vote at Hillside and Broad Run High School ("Ashburn Farm" precinct). Delegate David Poisson is our representative and he is being challenged by Lynn Chapman. (Vote Poisson!)

All of us are in the 33rd Senate and the Dulles District for BOS and school board. Here's a rundown of the others on the Broadlands ballot (with the Democratic endorsements in bold and incumbents listed first):

    State Senate
    Mark Herring
    Patricia Phillips

    Board of Supervisors
    Steve Snow
    Stevens Miller (<- Broadlands resident)

    Dulles District School Board
    Robert Dupree
    Kevin Turner

    County-wide offices:

    At Large School Board
    Tom Reed
    Herb Bryan (<- Broadlands resident)

    Sheriff
    Steve Simpson
    Mike George (<- Broadlands resident)
    Greg Ahlemann

    Treasurer
    Roger Zurn
    Chuck Harris

    Commonwealth's Attorney
    Jim Plowman
    write-in John Flannery

    Soil & Water Conservation
    Michael A. Megeath (incumbent)
    James K. Wylie (incumbent)
    Peter Rush
    Chris S. Simmons

Oh yeah, we don't have a horse in these races:

    Board of Supervisors, Chairman
    Scott York
    Mike Firetti

    Commissioner of the Revenue
    Bob Wertz

    Clerk of the Court
    Gary Clemens

Joy - my daughter goes to Hillside and a sample ballot came home the other day - it was attached to the school newsletter for November.

Yeah we had one come home from Mill Run yesterday for the 32nd district (Del Poisson's). I expect that's where most of the confusion comes in, since all of the parents in Southern Walk would have the wrong sample ballot then.

What do you mean we don't have a horse in these races.. do you mean we don't care who wins in these races?

I meant there's no Democratic endorsed candidate in those races. (I bolded all the ones that were endorsed by the Democrats.) I'm the Dulles District chair for the county Democratic party (a strictly volunteer position!).

By the way, Mill Run is going to be sending out the 13th District ballot next week with a clarification. Boy, I hope we get to stay there. Mr. Vickers is a good guy. Was that the school you got the sample ballot from?
