Tried looking for some information on the white flagging tape near the In-n-Out store but was unable to pull much up.

Anyone know what this is for?

They do that to mark where the road boundaries and entrances will be when they do new construction. I assume that means someone may finally be on the hook to widen that part of the road. Maybe the townhomes being built there had to proffer it.

You are correct, Steve. I pushed this project through while on the board of supervisors, in large part because the developer promised to finish the widening of Waxpool to four lanes.

Adding more housing units without adding jobs and services to balance them is something I tended to oppose. But, I said I would approve applications with proffers that completed otherwise incomplete infrastructural improvements, and this was one of them.

Might be fair to say that, even five years later, this is another campaign-promise I managed to keep.
