Each year more and more people have lights up before Halloween. Why rush the season?

You know I knew about the Diwali thing... even think it's a neat festival. However, this year people are using the icicle lights... that doesn't seem remotely related. Just my funny observation :) Not a problem... just found it amusing.

I've never heard of this before and I never noticed this many lights up before. Interesting. Explains a lot!

Okay...but how long does Diwali last? Driving home from happy several hours last night I noticed alot of lights. Wasn't Diwali almost two weeks ago?

Woot T8ergril! Another early riser! I didn't get around to this until now though. Been up since 7 - as usual the rest of the house is still snoozing away!

Maybe it was the Diwali lights shining in my window that woke me up!!
    Nah---it was the cat.

I'm putting my lights up this weekend. My mother-in-law doesn't have much longer to live and she's coming for Thanksgiving. I'm trying to interject as much happiness as I can for her and her grandchildren. So don't be alarmed when you see the lights on!

November seems to be the time for them...I don't mind seeing the lights in November. In fact, I'm anxiously waiting for my neighbors (aka The Grizwolds) to get theirs up! I see their Christmas trees already...just need the lights now and then I'll be in the season!

I'm feeling inspired. This weekend might be the weekend for us, too. I think I'll call it the Diwalloweengivingyule decoration weekend.

Just because you do not like them, it doesnt mean other's can't enjoy them! Stop imposing your "white lights only" views on others! :angryfire:

hey, I agree kids like them, but that doesn't change the fact that they are still gaudy!

Some colored lights are decent, but tree lights were meant to be a safer version of candles in the trees like they used to do... and candles aren't multi-colored. Yes, I am a white-lights snob =) I prefer to add color with classy ornamentage =) Now, don't get me started on blinking lights! heheh

I like colored lights, and I love when they blink! Maybe this year I'll have the tree decorated my way, for once.

I'll make the lights blink for you... bring me your head! :smash:
