I thought the little discussion of how you like your lights sounded personal! Maybe you can compromise and buy some of these. You'll be the only ones on your block.

My boys and I like colored, blinking lights. Pats_Fanette, not so much. She's a non-blinking white-light only girl.

The boys get a tree upstairs with colored blinking lights. That's the tree they're allowed to touch (ornaments, etc.). Our two downstairs trees are white-only. And of course, outside is only white lights and spotlights/wreaths.

Yes, that's right. Three trees. And she's been lobbying me for a fourth for our front porch for a couple of years. Oh, and she's already started decorating. She knows better than to ask me to help before Thanksgiving... :)

Hehehe. My parents have three Christmas trees (maybe four by now) too! Although I do not want to decorate for Christmas before Thanksgiving, I do enjoy seeing the decorations.

I don't know, I just feel that we (stores and such) are drowning out Halloween and Thanksgiving when we start decorating for Christmas before we've had the chance to enjoy the other two holidays. I enjoy Halloween and Thanksgiving just as much as Christmas :)

I shop for Christmas all year round so I don't need the early Christmas decorations in the stores to encourage me to buy stuff.
