Has anyone seen the new plans for the Greenvest Properties that were bought by Rockpoint back in early 2010. They're marketing it as Willowsford. 2,000 of the 4,000 acres will remain in open space. Very stringent architectural standards. Looks pretty nice...=$$$

I wonder how many trees will be left standing for the parks, or will they be new plantings....Rust Orling's site has some nice houses on it for private residences. Wonder if they'll be like them? You know, different than the cookie cutter NOVA houses.

Six miles west of the Fairfax border by 50 puts them pretty close to the end of the runway.

The Grant and The Grange are pretty much right in the flight path of the east/west oriented runways, though just on the outer edge. I imagine the builders will be required to disclose the flight paths and mitigate the noise impacts to some extent. Also, isn't this flight path a landing flight path? If so, landings are generally much less noisy than takeoffs. I grew up in VA Beach and became very accustomed to "jet noise" so it doesn't particularly bother me. I could see how it may be a concern for others though. I wonder what kind of decibel levels we're talking about?

They also use RWY30 daily for departures, particularly in the afternoon when the European-bound jets depart.
I believe it is the 55db line that limits residential activity. The lines are clearly drawn out and established for Dulles. Both the current, and future, runways.

When I was going to Langley HS and we lived on Turkey Run Road of Gtown Pike, we would sit on the patio in the summer and have to stop yakking until the plane flew over, direct flight path from National. It wasn't too bad, and no late flights came by like at Dulles.

We drove down Ryan Rd to Evergreen Mill, RT 50 to Watson and all overt back roads. Never did see any sign or dirt moving going on. Dont even know where the Greenvest sign orginally was.

Did see the sign for the future location of the Hans Bens Park...if you take a left onto Evergreen it's a tadf down on your right.

    Anyone else know?

The Grant is off of Fleetwood Rd. The Grange is just a bit further southeast off of Evergreen Mills but before Briarfield Lane. I'm pretty certain they've started moving dirt at both locations but with the recent weather may have been delayed. I have seen some equipment moving at The Grove which is off of Braddock Rd (unpaved part).
