    Hello all~

I have D-LINK DWL 520+ PCI wireless Network card, works fine from Windows but cannot get it to automatically configure/work on either RedHat 9 or Fedora 2 :(

Anyone have recommendation on specific wireless PCI card to use on Red Hat 9/Fedora 2?

    Thanks in advance
    Sabbir :)

Do you need a multi card, or one particular standard ( 802.11a,b,g ) or something that covers them all?

    Hello there,

Basically looking for a PCI wireless card (802.11b) that would work seamlessly on either Fedora/Redhat/Mandrake. Cause I found out that the D-Link DWL 520+ I have needs whole lotta configuration to make it to work on Linux and doesn't get detected when probed.

    Thanks
    Sabbir :)

As I don't use Fedora, Redhat, or Mandrake, I'm not sure which wireless tools they use, or if they use the one built into the kernel. The kernel one is horrible IMHO, and using a different one is normally better, that's independent of distro.

Personally I like the linux-wlan ( http://www.linux-wlan.com/linux-wlan/index.html#The linux-wlan Project ) better then most I've seen out there for wireless. I currently use it for some D-Link PCMCIA cards though, so your mileage may vary.
