Wireless/Streaming audio setups

    I want to ditch my archaic tuner, CD player and floor speakers for wireless streaming systems (Itunes integration, Pandora, etc.) like Sonos or Squeezebox.

    Ideally, the system will have a small footprint (shelf system) and have decent sound quality for filling a fairly large room. The speakers do not have to be integrated. Audio quality is important but budget is limited (I've done enough research to know there are > $1k setups out here, which is more than I want to spend). Looking for the best bang for the buck...

    I am not interested for a complete video/audio home media server system (the room this would be used in does not have my TV setup in it).

    I'm hopeful someone here has already gone through this who can provide recommendations. Thanks!
